(im not sure, but in the WN Alice recognize her feelings for Kirito as love after meeting Asuna, but again im not sure). So this is pretty much about the girls.

About Kirito, he is pretty much the same in both LN and WN (except for Sachi xD), he never pays attention to the other girls feelings and actually he dont give a fuck about their anyway, he is just awkward as always. In the WN/LN he never cheat on Asuna, and never think of any other girl in any romantic way, not Sinon, not Alice, etc, of course he is still a man, so if a half naked-beautiful blondie-robot-girl goes in to your bed at 3 a.m you cant pretend to be just "okay". So his relationship with Asuna is also pretty much the same in both series, they are in love, they are still planing to be together working for UW sake and they are still wanting to be a family in the real world with Yui. In the LN they just have more attention maybe, or just with all the new Material editions, SS and Progressive you get the impression of a better develópment for their or its just Reki wanting you to feel that their relationship is a lot more strong with the new stuffs.

Edit: i apologize, my english is awful so maybe i got you a bit confused, but in a nutshel in the WN, Kirito is in love with Asuna, all the other girls are in love with him but its one sided while in the LN is still the same for Kirito, but the girls have a better development not wanting Kirito´s dick xD, and Reki "fixing" a lot of scenes that may be missinterpreted, its just that.
So vol 17 is out and I only see a super cool Sinon, I would be awkward for both the characters and the readers if Sinon LN would make a move like that @@

The Sinon in the WN sounds interesting, I might give it a shot!
Can you tell me which part to read only about Sinon?

Yup.

If he is smart, end the main series and focus on progressive so that could realistically be finished if he still hopes.for a progressive anime.

Sword Art Online Progressive 4 On Sale Date: 10/25/2016

It's been just two months since they were trapped in the game of death that is Sword Art Online, and Kirito and Asuna continue their struggle at the vanguard of progress through the game. The fifth floor of Aincrad is a mazelike ruin, and the two dare to take pleasure in raiding it for the treasure it contains. Upon returning to the fourth floor, it's time to do some questing on behalf of the Elf Lord Yofilis--but here begins Asuna's discontent, for in doing so they will have to face her least favorite monster ever...

Sword Art Online 18 - Alicization Lasting, 10th Aug 2016

According to the synopsis Kirito will recover in the volume. This being Alicization's final volume is not mentioned which means most likely Vol 19 is the last one. Either way it will end before the movie is released.

So it is the last one. If they make more anime covering Alicization, it will be 5 episodes per volume if it's 4 cours total. Before the pace was about 6 episodes per average volume length.

sounds about right. some later volumes will be shorter due to being so battle heavy

Alicization is getting manga adaptation: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...-manga/.103321

So even if we don't get anime we still get a visual adaptation.

The progressive manga seems to be from Asuna's POV mostly, but LN is 50/50 Asuna and Kirito POV....amirite?

#Most anime are done before a series is finished. Finishing a series actually reduce the chance of anime adaption (as iit can no longer be used to boost further volume LN sales so the commercial value is reduced)
#Main series sold more than progressive in Japan from what I am told.

The main series will obviously sell more if it releases more than 1 novel a year. The fact that progressive isnt far sales wise saus a lot.

The main series only released one Volume in 2015, though.

Main series is main series, so of course it's gonna sell better. Progressive still sells pretty well though.

Cover and synopsis of vol18. The 完結 means this concludes the Alicization arc. Whether it continues after is anyone's guess.
