Hi! I'm new here
Hope to here more news about Nodame Cantabile, may it be the luve action, anime or manga. I'm very much pleased with the fact that Chiaki-kun is spacing out, hehehe!!! but I'm not sure why he said that Nodame being unfair. Sorry for the spoilers if I've given any, Last edited by xris; 2008-08-11 at 08:15. Reason: The manga is licensed |

There is actually a separate thread for the Nodame Cantabile manga, so any discussion of manga events should probably take place there. At the least, anything from the manga that has not taken place yet in the anime should probably be spoiler tagged if posted here.

What sucks though is Kasai ain't directing the series anymore (or any other recent anime for the past year for that matter). Wonder if he got canned because of the lackluster sales of the kimikiss anime, something that's hardly his fault considering how fresh is his take on the love triangle angle there.

I watched the anime version of Nodame Cantabile first, then the live action, then I read the manga. I have to say its the only time I have enjoyed all three versions of any thing. Usually I don't even like going from anime to manga or manga to anime much less live action. Its just a great comedy/romance series.

As for live-action, it's even harder to make a live-action series or movie that is satisfactory to any who has first watched the anime or read the manga. NC's live-action is pretty close to the original. I find it ironic that the girl who acted Nodame (extraordinary acting talent there, she portrayed Nodame's character so excellently!) is much prettier and attractive than her anime counterpart, whereas the anime Chiaki is more good looking than the live-action Chiaki. The only thing I've to complain about the live-action is the portrayal of Stresemann. His personality is 360 degrees different. He comes across as a scheming, manipulative pervert, whereas in the anime, he's much more clueless with less flamboyance. |

Well since it seems to only be covering the Paris Arc that makes sense to me. It's much shorter then the previous arc in Japan that we saw. It always seems that the anime does the exact same chapters as the live action. I wish the anime would go further then the live action because that would make me more excited for it. Quote:

Er, how exactly is it much shorter when the action in the manga takes place mostly in Paris from volume 10 to at least volume 20 (when I stopped following it, waiting for the anime, so maybe there is more)? I guess not everything taking place in Paris is called the Paris Arc?

But I meant they are probably only doing where the live action caught up again which is Nodame's first recital. I don't know maybe they will go further then that but with the manga still ongoing it seems like a good stopping point. |
