Hi fellow Moyashimon fans,
I wrote a review and episode notes with explanations on the various characters (read: microbes). Strange choice for a Noitamina anime though. |

^Cheers for that; that helped immensely. Oryzae-tan lol
That whole Kiviak scene though was beyond wierd. Even knowing the science, a man sucking petrified juices from a dead bird's anus is a new level of wtf... |

edit: I forgot to mention that Tamagawa Sakiko voices the germs. Plenty of incentive to watch it for all those Tachikoma fans.

This might be a handful to translate. I looked at it, but I dont feel comfortable giving lectures on microbiology in japanese A native speaker with a TL checker could do the series justice.
let's wait till episode 2 and see what happens. |

I think my description was accurate.Okay I did miss out the bit about the dead birds being stuffed inside a dead seal, placed in a shallow grave to 'ferment' the internal juices to their optimum liquid state before being sampled by Itsuki-sensei. All in the name of science.
I love this animation on the Japanese Kiviak site that TJ_han mentioned in his blog. The correct way to eat Kiviak. It's a delicacy amongst Eskimos, apparently. Yummy... |

Yay thank you BSS!
I really enjoyed the first episode. The humor was sort of wrong but it definitely either shocked me or got me laughing. I have no idea where they are going with this but I had fun watching the first episode. And those bacteria are awfully cute. |

What in the hell did I just watch...And I don't mean that in any kindof smartass sarcastic sense...just what was that.
Uh well discounting the fact that watching that guy uhhh..."suck"...on that dead bird almost made me throw up my dinner it was an...errr..."Educational" experience... I guess ill keep up with it just out of a perverse sense of curiosity though I have a feeling I may sorely regret that decision later on...

Heh, hopefully slurping fermented bird innards isn't one of his hobbies
Why does that remind me of the old medieval technique of leaving a dead bird hanging upside down to baste in its own rot before cooking it?
