After Fate/Stay Night is over, Makai Senki Disgaea will be over next. The latter will probably follow the same ending as the game. Both followed the same path from game to anime and their respective endings (except Fate follows the original path). I can't believe Geneon Entertainment licensed both of them already but Fate was first. When do you think the Fate DVD will be hear in the states? Makai Senki Disgaea already has a December release this year.

Wow, what an episode. After playing the game, I didn't think the ending would have such an impact on me, but I was wrong of course . True to Type-Moon ending, I liked it very much. The ending credits seemed to have been sung by Tainaka Sachi, though not completely sure. Going to watch it again right now...

SPOILER FILLED, DUH.
Argh. Heartwrenching, like Tsukihime --- maybe even abit worse because development went over 24 episodes and we viewers develop that ounce more attachment to the characters. I'm not entirely happy with the preoccupation of Japanese writers, especially residing in subcultures, with sad endings. Regardless, this was beautifully executed. If anyone has watched Escaflowne: The Movie, you'll of course notice the high degree of similarity in how the ending scenes were pulled off.. My personal interpretation of the ending? Whether Sabre dies after she says this sleep will be longer than usual is the portion of the ending which is left open to the viewer. Your interpretation tells you something about yourself.. However, I think what is really quite painful to know is that the entire experience that Sabre had; with Shirou, with Rin and so on... was really just like a dream to her. Is she aware that in some other world, in some other time.. there is a Shirou who is thinking of her? Or does she think it was some mere dream...? Overall, I think the series could really have done better. But it doesn't change the fact that this final episode is... moving. Gah. |

Ok, just watched it, it's good! But I have a few question regarding the ep and the series tho. Why didn't Shirou's father's attempt at destroying the Holy Grail failed and Shirou succeeded? Didn't Shirou's father also ordered Saber to destroy the Holy Grail? Does Gilgamesh have any relation to Archer or Shirou at all? And is the Saber at the end of the ep the Saber we know (did she go back in time to command her subordinate guy to throw away her sword) or is that just how the history happened? That's it. Overall good series, although I felt Shirou could've done more.

Remember, Eirei's exist outside time, so you can't think of it in a linear time POV.
