Looking at the current Gaza military conflict, it reminds me that I am still behind in Gundam 00. Seriously, if the Celestial Beings do exist, they should take out both the Hamas and the Israeli military in a single wipe. The region cannot maintain peace and stability when people who possesses such strong hatred commit an endless loop of military violence on civilians. Tragic, yet nothing is coming out of the United Nations' emergency meetings. Pitiful.. |

As for your second sentiment, I did share something like that to my friend, who's otherwise a devout Catholic. But even he somewhat agrees that "if both of you don't play nice, neither of you should have it."

Forget recession: Tuna fetches top yen in Japan
Although Japan is facing a situation where its currency is rising to abnormal high levels which impacts the overall profits on major company exports due to the failing American economy, there are still people who are willing to pay 9.6 million yen ($104, 700) for tuna. Expensive? |

In other news, gas to Eastern Europe seems to take a big hit with Russia shutting the tap on Ukraine.

Thanks for the info. Now that we are away from the old topic, how about a new one? The gas issue in Europe seems to be on track of being resolved.

As for the shooting that lead to this, I saw some videos of it on youtube from several different angles, and I have to say, that cop should be facing life in prision. He just pulled out his gun and shot him while he was on the ground being held down.

You'll need an account since it's flagged for mature content, but here's the link to the shooting video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXWSgG-KNng For those that can't see it, he and another cop are holding the guy down, the guy struggles a bit, the cop pulls out his gun, aims, and shoots the guy in the back as the other cop jumps out of the way.

Maybe he was reaching for his taser and drew his gun instead. Bet he was like,"Damn this dude won't stop struggling! Ok how's some volts for you! Oops i heard a bang! Oh the guy is lying still instead of going into a fit like they did in taser training, oh boy, I bet I'll get blamed for this."
Seriously, I wonder if riots will break out if this officer is acquited. As I recall the LA riots broke out after the officers involved in the Rodney King beating were all acquited.

I remember Vexx mentioning something earlier on bout the Tsukiji fish market closing down and i was kinda saddened to hear it, but checking out BBC today, it seems it was merely closed to foriegners due to unruly behaviour and now they're opening it back up on very restricted terms.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7822753.stm At least, they're trying to forgive us somewhat for the minority of idiots that always ruin it for the majority.

Weizmann Institute Scientists Produce The First Smell Map
An astounding discovery was made! Thanks to the long-term research done by Israeli scientists, it appears that smells can be mapped and the relative distance between odors can be determined. Perhaps, through more research and breakthroughs, they can even pinpoint it. |
