It's a grimdark but otherwise optimistic anime, Symphogear. It has all the element I like, which overall 100% fitting with the themes I intended for my fics... and then WHAM a certain character's backstory is revealed.

It's not even graphic, just narrated with implications, and yet I didn't survive the impact after freaking three days. Not that I'm traumatized, but I got headache trying to resist the temptation not to overdo the dark elements (which turned out corny because of my deadpan narrative)

No emphasis put on 'his' character, at all. 'He' is constantly overshadowed. Putting this 'he' was equal to people such as Kiyoka, Nohonhon, Risa or Mio.

The sad thing, if I try to think what to do with 'him' as of now, my finger stop writing altogether and I hit a virtual brickwall.

That label went to Dunois twin, when they're at the worst condition though (and for the fun of it), just think of Charlotte in novel, but times two.

Len and Lun comes of as weird at first: they're fiercely competitive and sort of pragmatic, and different take on certain elements of sexuality.

This is why at first they come of as creepy jerkass, especially to mostly polite Japanese. After cultural contact things went better either way, they began to respect each other finely.

Yeah, it's the creature. I've just decided to call the IS infused with cosmic energy as IS, though the badguy would refer to it as a nebula or crutch at times. Mostly because the purpose is to infuse the pilot with enough cosmic energy to force a permanent evolution.

The pilots may possibly be referred to as stars... and fully developed stars will probably explode or implode on death/defeat on a scale relatively smaller of blackhole or supernova.

When he first saw blood, he flinched and tried his best to avoid staring at it. Now he didn't even blink at the thought of having to injure himself in order to maintain a cover. When he saw gun's, he usually had to keep himself from shivering out loud or puking. But now he could point a gun at his own head and pull the trigger if he had to without being told that it was unloaded. Even violence or gruesome sights didn't do much to change his feelings or affect him anymore. It was as if he didn't care anymore about anything. That's what worried him. What was he? An empty shell that just did what he was told? He wasn't blind to the fact that he'd grown more and more distant to everyday happenings. His sister was obviously worried, along with Yukari and even his parent's. His friends hadn't noticed it at all, thinking that it was only because of him not getting enough female companionship (He really wanted to say otherwise). Why did he keep doing this vigilante nonsense when he felt nothing for them? He didn't know. He honestly didn't know. And now he was here again, being forced at gunpoint to do some other thing by an old family friend of the Sarashiki's. He should've known something was odd from the job from the very beginning. Unlike most cases, he was asked specifically by name to help complete it and not just given to the family. He didn't find anything odd about this at first since it was his parent's old friend asking to do it. He didn't know much about him other than his name, Albert van der Linde, and that he was a European associate. He figured that if his parent's trusted him, then why couldn't he? It would be fine. He was wrong. Albert wasn't who he said he was. While he really was an old friend of the family, he failed to mention the fact that he stole secrets from various company's and sold them to the highest bidder's. His family was apparently one of the best sources of info and he wanted help stealing into the vault. He 'chose' him simply because he thought (somewhat rightfully) that he held no love for his family's secrets or dealings, not for any other reason. He knew the vault combination, and so did every other member of the household. Albert thought he'd hit the jackpot with him and that he would get an obedient little pawn in his game. Needless to say, he didn't find Saito's refusal to open the vault lightly. "....Are you planning to shoot me....?" Saito tightened his grip on the detonator on his palm, "If you are, then I hope you can run at a mile a minute, or else you'll lose more than a few business deals. The detonator in my hand is pressure sensitive. If let go of it for even a second, this entire place blows....." Albert scowled and pressed the gun closer to Saito's cheek, "Nice try kid, but that little bluff isn't going to get me so easily," Even if his voice was confident, Saito could make out the nervous that seeped through the cracks, "You and I both know that you don't like your family that much, so what's stopping you from doing this? I know you kid." Truthfully, he actually was bluffing. He wasn't good enough that he could rig his entire house to explode at the blink of an eye. He was purely hoping that Albert would be dumb enough to buy it. ".....I'm not letting you sell that information. I don't care if you're doing this for some grand noble cause or if you're doing it to just get rich, but I'm not going to open that vault even if you kill me.." He pulled the gun down slowly and made his way to the door, "I've already called the police and you will stay here until they arrive. If you move from this, I'm dropping this thing and we both die." Albert grabbed Saito by the collar and pulled him close, "You think I'm joking!" The butt end of the pistol smacked across Saito's cheek, "You move, and I shoot you right in the head. You're not going to leave this place." "Yes I am, I'm going to walk right out that door." Saito mouth turned up in a small smile, "And you're not going to stop me." "You think I won't do it?" He pulled back the hammer of the gun and pressed it against Saito's throat, "I'll do it, and you know why? Because I can't stand you waste who you are! What you have inside! You're not like the rest of your family, you know there are things that have to be done! I know you! You're no different than I am, doing what you have to in order to achieve something!" "...You're going to do it Albert...." Saito's voice was eerily calm and his expression level, "Because if you shoot me you'll die as well. And while I'd give my life for something I believe in, there's not a thing in this world you'd die for...." Saito ignored the gun pressed against his neck and walked towards the door, leaving the older man pointing a gun he would never be able to fire. "You know the difference between you and me, Albert? I really do know you, you only think you know me." __________________

All the while exposing the inner side of her skirt, definitely on purpose. “No guys can keep themselves cool when their ears got chewed like that; also, it’s not like you have sensual underwear to shown, so keep your modesty please?” Dan lightly replied as the girl helped him to stand. Of course, seeing this kind of scene, Yui’s temper instantly exploded, violently at that. Her hand meeting the table can be heard from every corner of cafeteria, due to her enhanced body as well-trained pilot. “Unrefined conduct like that, have you no shame, Momioka?” “It’s not like I done anything illegal, ne~, it’s just a friendly prank” “By definition it’s a sexual harassment” Dan nonchalantly leered “Not like a big problem to me though” The way Dan and Risa chuckled to each other made Kotegawa’s blood pressure rising even higher. “How troublesome” Ichika thought, keep silent so he didn’t attract any attention, on the other hand, Charles simply said “Ah, let’s fold this issue entirely, I think we’re disturbing everyone-” “Catfight” the crowd murmured “A Catfight?” “It’s about Gotanda” “Eeeh? Seeing such scene, Ichika can’t help but feel glad.
