I had the feeling this series might not be a long one after Saigi sort of confessed to sensei in volume 5 and Miharu left SID in volume 6. While I very much enjoyed this and I'm sad it's going to end, assuming we are getting a proper conclusion I'd say ending now is better than having it padded with fillers and drama.

As expected, this time is Shiya senpai's turn to quit SID. This volume didn't focus on her as much as I thought, and in general I feel she was a bit underutilized as a character. As the author said in the afterword, she would make for a fine heroine on her own, but sadly for her in this series is sensei the one destined to shine. From the hints given at the end, the next volume might be the end of SID (or at least of Nui and Karen) and the series might end with a timeskip. I'm looking forward for the last two volumes.

Anyway, my comments on volume 8:

as expected, this is a SID volume and we got the dissolution of the harem. What I wasn'texpectingis that this isn't due to Saigi rejecting them but to all of them having personal circumstances that will prevent them to keep seeing him, like senpai going to study abroad, Niu changing school in order to focus on her career, Kuu moving with her family because of her father's work (Kuu stayed in the end though, so as shown in the previous volume she still is technically the last remaining SID member). On one hand this turned out to be less heartbreaking than I feared, on the other Saigi's role felt a bit too passive. My impressionis that the author layed the groundwork for the series to potentially last for long but had to cut it shorter, which I'm not sure is a bad thing considering sensei won in the first volume.
At the end Saigi nearly had sex with sensei but then remembered her statement about atoning for her sin and stopped himself to not lose her too.
The end of the volume is the graduation ceremony when it is mentioned that at the field trip something happened with Tenka and sensei. So my guess until we read the actual synopsisis that volume 9 will be part the Tenka arc with the flashback of the trip and part the epilogue, maybe with another flash forward.

As stated, this is indeed the final volume. The focus is on sensei, her relationship with Fuuka sensei, and Saigi. Saigi is given a final exam, he has to make a choice, either confess to sensei and gave her quit her job or have her stay as a teacher and reject her. The author tried to give some justification for why they can'tsimply start dating after he graduates but I found it a bit too convoluted. Nevertheless, in the end Saigi finds a way to confess, make her stay as a teacher, propose and become a teacher himself.
Time skip in the end, and we got JK Kuu as the last member of SID still challenging Maka senseifor Saibi. He is now a teacher and works in another school while living together with Maka as a couple (although they aren't arrived yet). The series ends with the two of them in the red fiat, talking about their future together.
Oh, the Tenka arc? It was mentioned that she and Saigi got closer during the trip, with an accidental probably involved, but it wasn't narrated in the volume. Given what the author said in the afterword, I expect something like a drama cd or some sort of short story bonus.

Final judgment about this series? I liked it, liked the dialogues, liked the characters. The story wasn'talways perfect,
the way the harem was dealt with felt anticlimactic and the ending a bit too convoluted, but it was an enjoyable read.
