yeah... that's about what happens...
Sakura stays alive because hmm.. dunno, I got tired and didn't draw more. Hinata didn't mean to kill anyone else but Sasuke, but then I needed to see some more weird action. And Sakura isn't even worth killing. just a quick drawing so it hasn't got any deep plot... |

Right .... here is something, comments?
This is quite big so it's in spoiler http://www.tutka.net/~veltsu82/filut/MukeTeam7.png Last edited by xris; 2004-07-22 at 04:42. Reason: Putting an image in a spoiler doesn't help, the entire image is still downloaded even if the spolier is never opened. Changed img -> url instead. |

Wow... uh...
Naruto has fuzzy eyebrows.... and a goatee. And he killed Ero Sennin! (*cries*) And Ebisu Sensei! (*laughs*).... and Sasuke finally gets Itachi? (*cheers*) Well, for a more serious note... In general, alot of it is good. You have a very unique style, one that definitely appears more American, if you will. Like the old Ninja Turtles type. I like the tattoo on Sakura... although I'm not sure that we can see the full design. :S For the critiques, the images all seem very flat. The cell shading wasn't done in quite the right places, and in the right shapes... and the way you did (especially Sakura's) eyes, gives them an almost manic appearance... very much insane. They're pale colored, and wide, with the pupils dilated. Very scary. Lastly, Sakura's shoulder's look very manly. She is truely a "broad," now. |

Thanks for the comments...
Sakura's eyes were ment to be "maniac-like"... but yeah I don't really draw anime-style. (btw. I used to draw Turtles when I was a kid) I didn't pay much attention to the shading, but I'm not sure if I would have done it much better if I had. I should train to draw folding glothes too. And yes, my drawings seem always soooo flat... hate that.. so need some training.. |

Ah! I know what I forgot to add....
The shoulders, on Sakura especially, are exceedingly SQUARE. On your other pic (Sakura), they were exceedingly rounded. Here, they're too square. Try for something in the middle... shoulders that are defined, but not stiff. Err.... for an example, I'm going to post art from one of my favorite artists, that shows a good shoulder in a similar pose... although, it still could use some nitpicking. However, your figures are decidedly static... (as are mine, I know.. but I'm working on it!) This one shows definite life, even though it is a still shot. http://images.epilogue.net/users/jae/Spy.jpg (*this image copyrighted 2003 by Jason Engle... whose work I also nabbed my (former) banner and current avi from. If you would like to see his gallery... http://www.epilogue.net/cgi/database...pl?gallery=227 is the place to go. I will remove this image in three days and instead post a direct link to this page.) I would also recommend you check out the following links, even though they are pictures of a more masculine figure... Some Naruto "sketches"
FIRST the one I did while thinking what should I draw next...
It's a true masterpiece, very complicated tools and effects!! ... then the SECOND is a sketch I begun to work on after the first one, but then ended up splashing some colori on it. Don't know if I'll ever finish it. I have a bad habit to leave drawings hang around because of lack of ideas and skill. ENJOY! |

Wow! It's almost-cubism! Or maybe impressionism? (*pulls out her Art Appreciation book to look for the term*) Dang it! I just had the final today...
For the second one, I'd say maybe a little less blurry. Although, of the two of them, I like the second one better. The proportions are waay better... unless you wanted Naruto to look like he was crushed? |

just keep working on proportion and shading. It all comes with practice, a mild amount of copying (very losely used, only copy to understand how it was done and to be able to do your own work as well as they do theirs), and a lot of studying (like looking at other people, yourself, and other works).

ok, my last post was entirely negative so i thought i should throw in what you did right using that last naruto picture.
the proportions are decently correct for the most part and the coloring is pretty good. I don't know why you have the sketch "layer" in there with the rest, but without that the lining would be quite clean as well. |
