Let's see... Samurai Deeper Kyo (i think that's what it's called) is good, with a bit of female nudity here and there, though it is harmless... I don't remember it well though, and only read part of the first one....
There are a couple of very good, beautiful, intricate, bloody ones, but I can't remember their names right now. If you can, just browse around in a bookstore (Borders has some good things). |

Blade of the Immortal and Vagabond are both good, but I'm not sure they're what you're looking for. Hunter X Hunter might be closer. It isn't about Ninjas or Samurai, but it's similar to Naruto. It isn't licensed yet as far as I know, but you could always download it.

samurai deeper kyo - looks good i think i'm going to buy that when there are more volumes released
blade of the immortal - wow great drawings! vagabond - i saw enough kenshin anime already flame of recca - hmmz can't seem to find any english books i think i'm going to get the first 4 volumes of samurai deeper kyo, does anyone know how many volumes SDK and blade of the immortal have? edit: i just did some research on vagabond, i tought it was the french version of kenshin but it isn't can anyone give me more information about it archonia.com doesn't seem to sell it Last edited by Tritium; 2004-01-17 at 06:08. |

Vagabond is an ongoing manga written by Takehiko Inoue of Slam Dunk fame. It tells the travels of legendary samurai, Miyamoto Musashi when he was a young man. The story has a serious theme and the fights are rather violent, very unlike Slam Dunk. AFAIK, it has won a number of awards in Japan since it started a few years back.
