I would agree with you, if the GOP had only one head. But the GOP is a group of other groups and if the irrationals have more power than the rationals one, we are much likely to see the GOP going even deeper into it's problem insted of trying to get out of it.

After Puerto Rico frames a Constitution, The House and Senate have to approve it. Although with this congress it might get contentious.

Yup, but he took a large majority of the latino and black vote, and a very healthy chunk of the young and women voters as well.

Yeah, I knew about those. My 'hmm' was about how many of those people just refuse to have a black president? It has to be a significant percentage.

At national elections, black voters mostly vote democrat.

If it becomes a offical state by then, Puerto Rico would add a few more electoral votes to the list come 2016. 5 seats in the House and 2 Senators.

This should help mollify the problem of a Tied electoral college. But 5 House seats? Really?
