I write Heero/Relena fan fiction though I would advise that you steer clear of anything written before 2009. My specialty is humor/romance and I write Dorothy/Quatre as well. Here's the link, if you're interested:

Off the top of my head, I'd recommend Nonsensical Nuances and Figurative Brotherhood. Those two are Heero/Relena one-shot/ficlet series. On the stand-alone stories, I'd recommend Quality Television wherein Dorothy get Relena to say various embarrassing things during TV appearances. Of course, Heero's there to watch in horror. The rest of the 2009 stories are pretty good as well.

See, that's one of the things I actually love about Kira/Lacus. There's just an absolute level of trust there. The kind that says "get the eff outta here we aren't rising to that BS" to your common relationship "problems" they try and throw into most anime romances.

Agreed. Kira and Lacus is my fav anime pairing. Their bond is just the strongest that I saw in an anime. And I have high hope for a wedding or something like that in the movie (if it will come out ) !

Nice, but strong bonds are not made by the fanbase, they are made in-story. In other words, people have strong bonds because they endure their tests and pay their dues just to see each other, not because they were pre-determined by the merchandise sales.

Yeah, I have nothing against Kira and Lacus (except for some of its more offensive fans), but most people should remember that Kira and Lacus were given extremely little development compared to other couples displayed both in the show and other shows. Kira and Flay, for example, Murrue and Mu, for another, Athrun and Cagalli for yet another. I'm not saying they didn't get any, but they didn't get a whole lot. Most of their apparent development was done off-screen between SEED and Destiny.

Yeah, stability is a good proposition, but how can you get stability without the scourge of instability. A journey isn't worthwhile without its hurdles.

Out all of the Gundam series I've seen (MS Gundam, SEED/S Destiny), 00, Turn A) my favorite romance is definitely HarryxKihel from Turn A Gundam. It might not be popular, for sure less than LoranxDiana in the same show, but for me it really stuck the right chord.
I appreciated the way their relationship grows through the series, nicely built with just small hints that at a certain point made me fear I was hardly shipping only a crack pairing, and finally reaching an emotional declaration at the right time and place ^^
Plus the fact that both, even if clearly in love, never forget their duties or loyalties, makes me favor this pair even more.

Then, in the other shows I've shipped DearkaxMiriallia (SEED), KatixPatrick (00) and BrightxMirai (MS Gundam), but all of them never moved me that much as Harry and Kihel. Only Dearka and Miri come close, and I still have to recover from the shock to see them separated in Destiny...

I'm on the Kira/Fllay side. 4tran explains perfectly why I love it. It didn't hit me on the first viewing but on my second run I got "it". Their relationship was interesting and its development credible. No sugar and rainbows as in many other romances.

That being said, other couples I have good memories of would be Kincadu/Vera and Loran/Dianna.

The first one is because I absolutely love the whole F91/Crossbone period and its protagonists. Kincadu is a hell of a pilot that'd gives some early UC a run for their money and Crossbone's Vera just strikes me a good character, way better than some other Gundam female leaders. Their couple always worked and after all they've been through, they definitely deserve their happiness.

I don't have a lot to say about Loran and Dianna though. On one hand because their relationship wasn't clearly determined in the end, on the other because it just worked without a reason. While I loved Turn A in its entirety, I have a soft spot for the first part and the whole Loran-Dianna dynamic during the time she was disguised as Kihel and she and Loran were running around.

For 2xH, I like the idea of a sort of best friends pairing despite them originally coming from opposite sides. They're both so happy-go-lucky. And 6x9 is the traditional childhood friends pairing, I guess. She's not a yamato nadeshiko in the least though. Actually, none of the GW girls are unless you count Une's "saint" personality. Must be why I liked the female ensemble cast overall.

3x12 = Trowa/Middie (sp?) Une (from Episode Zero)
Note: Middie is 12 because Lady Une is 11 (two ones side by side for her split personality and also because Heero is already 1) and Middie means "minute" in another language. French, I think? So they went with her being:
"minute after one"
"minute after Une"
"minute after 11"
"12"
Yeah, the pairing codes are really messy. There's also the 3xC (Trowa/Catherine) pairing which as later proven to be incestuous and invalid.
4xD = Quatre/Dorothy - despite their crack status, there is promo material of them together. xD
5xS = Wufei/Sally
5xM = Wufei/Meiran (Wufei's wife from the Episode Zero manga)
6x9 = Zechs/Noin
13x11 = Treize/Une

Yeah, I figured them out those three after a minute, I should have been a bit more clear. The code isn't too hard to break, and at least those pairing names make a little more sense than RoyxHawkeye -> RoyxEye -> Royai (at least I think that's how they got Royai) At first I thought Royai was people fanGurling for Roy real hard.
