Just as a reference, I wouldn't consider Hellsing horror unless you also consider the Blade movies to be horror. Hellsing is more of an action/adventure show that happens to star a vampire. Well, let me correct that, the ORIGINAL Hellsing was like that. I haven't actually gotten around to watching the new one yet.

Horror and gore don't bother me especially. I can deal with most anything, as a matter of fact (which is probably why I like so many different kinds of shows); however, like Vexx I like my show to be clearly identified when I get to the halfway point, or, better yet, when I start (the only time a show ever surprised me and I liked it was Higurashi no Naku Koro ni). If you're a comedy, be a comedy, you can have touching/sad moments, but don't kill everyone off at the end. If you're a tragedy, be a tragedy, don't end on a hero-get-the-girl type of ending.

You know, a tragedy CAN end with the hero-gets-the-girl . I mean, tragedy doesn't necessarily mean the ending to be tragic, it's the process that has to be tragic.

Yes I know, too much Euripides

I'm afraid to finish AIR because I might get extremely depressed.

I'm afraid to finish Narutaru because on every review I've read, they all post a warning: "Don't watch this show while you are eating."

^Anything like that scares me. x_x

After watching Alien Nine, I've been very afraid of watching Narutaru as a lot of people say that they are very similar.

They're both childish on the outside, but they're actually very gruesome and disturbing.

I'm not disputing that, I just don't enjoy it. Tragedies that end on a remotely happy note don't bother me as much as comedies that end on a tragic one though.

Well, A) I've never seen Trigun so I have no opinion of the show. B) even if it has funny scenes at the beginning, that doesn't mean it's a comedy. C)

(emphasis mine).

Again, this isn't about whether or not it's any good, just whether I like it or not.

You haven't seen Trigun???? WHY??

It's one of the best anime out there, and its dub is actually good (yes yes, it really is, amazing, isn't it?)

I dunno, never had the money to spend on it?

I actually like dubs okay, so I'm sure I'll probably like it's dub. I've always imagined I'd like the show, but I've just never found a set for sale without like fifteen other things I'd rather have first.

Though I think you're one of the first person I've ever heard call it "one of the best anime out there". The impression that everyone else has given me is that it's just another action show on the border between seinen and shonen (like Hellsing or Noir). Since I actually like those kinds of shows, that's a recommendation to me, though I'm pretty sure it wasn't intended that way.

Well, it's one of the few anime that I decided to buy without actually regretting it. I refrain from buying DVDs and stuff, my licensed anime collection is limited, I usually rent stuff in order to watch. Just my personal opinion though. And I usually don't like anime with guns and stuff (more of a fantasy type).

Too afraid to watch Gundam Seed Destiny because it was a trainwreck for entire franchise. Even today there still too many jokes about it.

Too afraid to watch Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge because it just an Ouran clone. I hate Ouran and any shows that similar.

Too afraid to watch Dragonaut because the hero lose his sister. Since I am imouto fan so I may never watch any shows where hero lose his sister right front of him. This apply to Gundam Seed Destiny too.

Too afraid to watch School Days because it just......SUCKED!!! Thanks for revealing what happened in its ending so I don't have to watch it. At least Makoto, Sekai and Kotonoha(not dead yet) are being chewed by Satan for eternity in Hell. Dante should rewrite Divine Comedy if School Days exist in his time.

I see that the OP did log in a couple months ago... good enough reason to resurrect a 2-year-old thread in my book!
