With Haruhi's plot as it is, 4 years is somewhat understandable though it's still really pushing it.

But no way in Hell Infinite Stratos would require that long for a writer's block.

The information about the author and the publisher is so different on this forum. I must missed something.

In this forum, the author is described as the manga artist of HuntersXHunters. They are quite different.

Spoiler for not interesting story :

It is hard to say who is to blame. Both artist and publisher have reasons. They both need to live and survive. They are taking risk for publishing work, and they cannot guarantee the work can be profitable. They still need money to bring food to the table.

From other forum, the author of IS got into trouble, because he asked for more commission from his publisher. Since the success of the franchise, he thought the publisher would be more willing to pay him more commission. Somehow, his relationship with his publisher was deteriorated. The news said he got fired, so the novel was discontinued. It could be the rumor. The publishing of the next novel would prove the rumor as false.

Lets hope it's a rumor. There are so many conflicting accounts of what's happening to the author that none of us know what's happening.

The craziest rumors can erupt when an author is not writting. Just look at Code-Zero's (a.k.a. n0m@n) page on BT. He thought the author died or something.

You know, IMO, the author is just taking a bit of rest after talking too much pills during the past years.

A good damn shame, and from my experience certain LNs have to follow plot "outlines" and styles that the LN Publisher has. MF was always "Harem antics" first regardless of the setting, but this is disappointing news since we will never learn why Ichika can use an IS.

Well one of the rumors said author tried to go to a different publisher and was turned away, and then MF wouldn't accept him back. Of course like I said rumors though.
