Throw in the Vitamins which have been around forever and EV resetting berries recently introduced, its pretty obvious they took a side effect of how the game stats is calculated and turned it into a full gameplay mechanic. Which has worked in the games favour and extended the game beyond simple level grinding.

Looking at the remake, I'm wondering how they will do it in Pokemon Adventures manga. The last remake made them to create a new story that is centered toward Red. . . I wonder if this would make development towards Gold. But heck, why did I start talking about the manga ? lol

The girl design changes a lot, I think.

Looks like the starter pokemon will be the same. Oh well. . this is a good thing, I guess.

The menu screen looks changed. . they made it touch screen rather than the usual way. And also, does that mean that our starter pokemon can be brought outside, just like the Pikachu in pokemon Yellow ?

I kinda don't like the girl sprite design for this version. So far Dawn's design in platinum has been the best girl design in my opinion. And I like Kris' design way better than the new one.

Wish they just reused Kris's design...the new girl looks lame.

Love the new touch screen menu, it sure beats having to pull up main menu everytime you wanna go into your backpack or check your Pokemon. My wishes still lie though on FASTER TEXT.

So why is Crystal included in the topic title? I mean When Red and Blue were remade they didn't remake Yellow.

I noticed that as well.

I've never been a huge fan of the playable character designs in general and this one is no different. For some reason the girl feels like she would fit in a Kingdom Hearts game.

Mine's would be FR and LG's female design... Don't think she has appeared in the anime though.

FIre Red and Leaf Greenś girl sprite designs were okay too. I liked it better than Mayś ruby and sapphire and especially Emerald. I personally didn´t like emeraldś design.

Edit: I can´t believe I just noticed right now. The new girl sprite has a really cute hat. I´m just not into her outfit.

No thread for the remake of the greatest Pokemon game of all time?

After Generation II, I stopped playing Pokemon but this remake will be the reason I'll be picking this series up again. I'm sure everyone has some sort of recollection of Pokemon in the past.

There were so many features in Gold/Silver that I loved and made the gameplay value epic.
Like
-Adventuring through 2 regions with 16 gym leaders
-Battling against Red, the protagonist of Pokemon Red/Blue
-With Pokemon G/S, players can really sense the connection between G/S and R/B, so it truly fells like a sequel, whereas the connection between the future generations are not as strongly related.

I'm looking forward to this remake.

Indeed. A tipping factor for me to get a DS finally. It'll be a while for this title though (least I import!) I too basically lost interest after Joutou.

Woulda liked better it if they used the Crystal character design. At least for the girl.
The G/S eneration was the one that I started in. My favorite Pokemon games, and that's partly the reason why I went bonkers when they cut off trading between GB and GBA. At least they're remaking it.

People keeping up with the new info should already know about the stuff on it. You can go to Kanto, Kyogre in Gold and Groudon in Silver (Definitely... getting Gold), get both to fight Raq, the new artwork for the characters, etc.

They made a place to re-fight the gym leaders, which was a good thing, but this time, I wish they also make it available to fight Team Rocket (grunt, admin, boss) afterwards. It is a shame we couldn't hear Team Galaxy's theme after beating the game, after all...

Ooh, the mighty Arceus... can't wait for the Arceus event Nintendo is holding for D/P/P.

I dunno the plus of being able to catch Kyogre and Groudon in HG/SS (I guess Entei, Raikou and Suicune weren't enough

). But, I do hope that they leave Suicune as a freebie catch like in Crystal, instead of making him run with the winds like the other two. Golly, catching all of them took a long time.
