So do you remember how the trio of Ai, Yoshinaga, and MC decided they were going to take on the "gods" of AKB48? Well, in an earlier chapter, Ai had managed to take 3rd place, and had thus become the closest to reaching that goal. In c201, just before the new ranking results are to be announced, she announces her retirement from AKB48. After MC talks to her, he finds out that she's moving to America to step onto the world stage. (She's decided that she's "outgrown" AKB48, not in an ungrateful way, though.) At the end, the AKB48 staff ask all her fans to revote and we find out that she had more than enough votes to have taken first place with room to spare.
