Chapter 172 is out. Also, if you've got a weird fetish for wordplay like Nisioisin does, you can quelch your thirst here, where I try to explain puns, odd kanji readings and so on.

My. I don't think Medaka has been driven so badly into a corner like this, even with Momozono,or during the Jet Black Wedding Feast. That ranked as one of the few times Medaka has a shaken look to her face. But she'll win, no doubt. Unless Nisio is going to screw around with audience expectations.

Hmm? Don't we already know that Disassembly girl is the most powerful? They kind of explicitly told us. That doesn't mean the others can't be "tricky", but in terms of pure potency and versatility we've already seen the strongest.

They can't hear Joutou's song, but it still works because it has ultrasonic and infrasonic waves inside it, and those hit the human body without being heard. Medaka tries to counter these sound waves with her voice, like Iizuka did with Kikaijima, and returns to her middle-school body. She rushes forward but realizes that Joutou tricked her: she finds nothing but a cellphone where the woman was supposed to be. In the meantime, Joutou has ambushed the rest of them, turned them into babies and took them hostage. They talk for a bit, then Medaka uses a moment of distraction of Joutou's to run and hide, buying herself time to think of a new plan.
