Gainax: Studio discussion, speculation, and whatnot
Might anyone know what this once semi-prolific studio has been up to?
The last Gainax series that I can recall was 2005's silly over-the-top, He is my Master?! (Go Anna-chan! ) I would love to see more shows like FLCL or Kare Kano. |

This new mecha series might prove to be some interest:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ency...me.php?id=6698 It's from the director who did Dead Leaves so there will be crazy action action scenes! |

They're not as prolific as big names like Sunrise, Madhouse, and Bones, so their output might not even reach a full TV series a year; there was even a two-year gap between He is my Master and Gurren Lagann.
Don't worry, they'll be around for more breast physics and budget cuts. |

Sorry to rise this thread from the depths of 2009 but the question is begging to be thrown out there: With Imaishi, Nishigori and Anno moving away from Gainax will the studio keep up what made it famous or will it turn into just another one?

3 important people who worked on Top wo Nerae!, Evangelion, FLCL, TTGL and Panty and Stocking. Seeing that they directed and did story boards for these series means that they are important backbones of the studio. If they're gone, it would be a great loss for Gainax.
