What was the point of showing Isumi again...Or her grandmother...Or Hina for that matter...Was this all structured the same in the Manga? It feels so completely random and disjointed to drop a plot part way through a 2-part arc to pursue some completely unrelated story...

I know I know Hayate is random, but when it comes to the story it usually keeps its ADD in-check long enough to finish telling it completely before running off to the next thing...
Well, there's still at least one more episode to this arc left, so...

For you lolicons out there, you all must be enjoying the Nagi-In-The-Mirror fanservice. They make pretty good wallpapers.

Besides, there must be a mistake. We do not have a Hina or Maria onsen scene.

OK, thanks for the clarification. It would have seem really out of the blue if they were relatives.

Also, from the previews, it looks like Isumi will be getting quite the power-up.

Someone mentioned that this is quite the Ayumu arc, yet so far, I think her scenes are limited, at least in the character development. It seems this was more of a Nagi arc than Ayumu.

Anyway, it was definitely a fun episode.

They did leave out the a chapter which, imo, was a bit important for Ayumu's development. That chapter does lead to this and that, and more Ayumu. Also, they never said why Nagi wanted to ride THAT train to Shimoda in the anime, which also removes the ping pong scenes.

Based on the preview for the next episode, it seems they're including the Hina and Ayumu scene in the onsen.

Plus, the student council trio.

I did it again didn't I...

*note to self stop subsisting off three hours of sleep and cup ramen*

I keep trying to unconsciously apply "onsen episode" logic here that tells me if she was still at the onsen she'd be in a hotel...One of those old fashioned looking ones made of wood with massage chairs and ping pong tables like every other damn onsen episode I ever watched...Not a mansion thats suspiciously looks alot like her other one...gah...

Be normal for once Nagi geez and you wonder why he doesn't see you as a girl while he's off furiously blushing at miss "Normal" Ayumi.

The humor in this episode was pretty good. The UFO revelation and the star and the sky part were funny. The 'riding on bike pegs without hands' scene was kind of corny because of the animation and how stiff her arms looked, which is too bad, but...

GAHHH, SAKUYA IS TOO CUTE!

Also, I felt like Hinagiku's animation when she was talking to Hayate was oddly better than the rest of the episode.

I understand you feel... but let`s hope that after shimoda arc ended, the op got changed and don`t forget the ed too (sometimes, i got bored with the hina`s theme ed ) I hope for the 2nd op KOTOKO will be the artist and for the ed it will be Nagi and hayate theme (the song will be sung by their seiyuus)

Or maybe the reason why they haven't changed the OP/ED is because they're already greenlighted for another cour or two, and so they decided to change either or both then. /speculation

(one can only hope )

Or maybe they're just really, really lazy.

Personally I was waiting for her to fall off the bike. I expected her to start waving and screaming and then for them to cut to the next scene just short of her plummeting to the pavement.

... It has nothing to do with the animation. Hinagiku's presence just improves the quality of the episode severely. It's her awesomeness.

Well if that's the case, as soon as the errand boy picks up the finished material from the dead employee that put it together (of course he's stupid so he doesn't know she's dead) he'll get right on to delivering it. Although, he'll probably go crazy and die on the way there.

Aren't references fun?

Fuss over no end change? Oh my, what a horrible thing to have ever come from this series

Neways~ I suppose it was a nice episode for Hamster to get some of the attention at long last from Hayate but it is obviously clear he has no interest in her...but that is normal. I really laughed at the way he beat that car on a bike though, cliched but it worked for me.

Nagi randomly got drunk from the onsen and thought Hayate looked like her mother...speaking of which her mother sure was dumb in that flashback har har~

And of course Hayate didn't react to her pettanko-ness...she looks like she is 13 (which ironically...she is ).

By the way, of course this isn't the case; still only 9 DVDs/BDs. This is just very typical for J.C. Staff shows. For Shana II, it didn't change 'till 16, for Index it didn't change 'till 17, for Toradora it didn't change 'till 17, and so on. Obviously it just isn't a huge priority for them to change OP/EDs with the season dividers; it'll be done when it's done, I suppose. (Personally speaking, I don't really see what the big deal is, but... ...)
