Caught up with the latest chapter. Been wanting to get into this manga for a while but I wanted to make sure it wouldn't get canceled first. I'm happy it's so popular.

And you guys, Nikumi is obviously the best girl. That said, every single one of them is cute or hot. Can't wait until Erina goes dere dere. It will be glorious.

I'm sure the glasses-chief is the weakest(Hmm, not sure if its the right word) chief among the whole seniors. So Soma would probably beat him, and the other senior chiefs would also admit Soma is good, but still far from being close to the other pro chiefs. Then one of the other senior chief might challenge Soma after Soma beats the glasses, and Soma finally loses and finds out that there are many chiefs better than him apart from his dad.

I think if Souma battles glasses chef, he'll get a narrow win.
Glasses might just be a 'normal' graduate and never was part of the Elite Ten.

Well, another possibility for a 'legit' win by Souma is if he's allowed to decide the theme.

Then he just needs to make the best dish he can make, one that comes the closest to 'Daddy Quality', presumably from his father's recipe.

That way, it would allow Souma to win without debalancing the powerlevels, & also work as a catalyst for Doujima ( & maybe the others ) to find out that Souma's father is also one of the 'gems.'

i think Soma can win with ease , not all chiefs graduates from the school are the finest cook ,Soma was being tutored by one of the greatest of all chefs (his father) since he was little and we all see that her level is far greater than a "normal" student so we can assume that he is on the same level of the graduates(of course not all graduates) but at least some low level graduates like the glass guy . (everytime i see him i just think that he was a shit student from a high class family that just happened to be good because her family have a few conection )

From the off-set of the manga, even entering Tootsuki's high-school division isn't guaranteed for those who are rich & powerful, much less surviving the 3 years there. That, and since he was among the ones chosen to supervise this whole thing, one can naturally assume he's at the upper end of the graduating classes, instead of Tootsuki inviting back a weak-ass among the graduates.

I'd rather these 'gems' live up to their hype of being the best of the best, having graduated the harshness of Tootsuki and are actually a level above the most capable students.

To me, I feel it's pointless to introduce these kind of characters, with these kind of hype, only to be brought down by a student, even if he's the main character.

Is it just me or is the art getting even better? Souma has never looked as cool as in this chapter. That glare!

Rooting for him to kick that guy's ass, but it's not going to be that easy this time.

Kind of sad that the alumni chef was made the villain, it seemed like a rather arbitrary change. Then again, the protagonists probably don't mind until it happens to their friends
