Bet mah cookies it IS that simple. Either that or they can't steal a bankai mixed with fullbring, which would make the arc Ichigo-exclusive as far as fights are concerned.

On another note, Urahara supposedly has a lethal bankai, any chance gloat-man could have stolen it and killed Ichigo instead?

It was short but i'm going to let that slide because it was Kubo's birthday and i agree with you,i like benihime, and it would be nice to see Urahara in action again.

No cause Urahara isn't so stupid to release his bankai if he knew there was even the smallest chance it could be sealed, he doesn't strike me as that type of person to do such a daft thing.
It's like giving away the codes to your nuclear weapons. Stupid idea is stupid idea.
The captains seemingly know that the Quincy aren't to be taken lightly and bankai is needed but still daft to release it knowing there was a chance it could be sealed.
What happens if they couldn't get it back?
Thats the worse case scenario and one they couldn't afford to take, so again stupid idea is stupid idea.
So how are they to deal with the Quincy?
Simple use there brains to devise strategies that didn't rely on their bankai's, they are captains afterall they have to have more to them than simply spamming 2 attacks.

yeah, it's definitely kubo. although kishi comes pretty close. this reminds me of that comic strip created by a fan a few years ago. kubo has supposedly kidnapped kishi and is hypnotizing him into writing crappy chapters. oda tries to help but he is also taken, tied up and gagged while kubo does his thing.

maybe becoming a (forgot what number) dimensional being means that the ichigo that we see is not his whole "existence". so quincies powers can't fully analayze him. what they see is only where Ichigo's existence cross section theirs.

or it could just be because he is human,

More like, he's just not their "food", and they're incapable of absorbing reiatsu of such high "frequency" - the same way as nobody could feel his or Aizen's reiatsu when they transformed.

That is, if it has anything to do with that "dimensional" thing.
