During todya's conference the author of the original FMP novels, Gatoh Shouji, announced that a new anime is in the works. A studio from Tokyo will be making it, with fully hand-drawn mechs. The original cast of voice actors will probably return.

If you're asking who Sousuke got together with in the Second Raid, the anime never concluded. TSR ended, but that was never the ending of the whole story. So to answer your question, he hasn't gotten together with anyone in the animeyet.

Rumor has it that the entirety of the main storyline will be covered. But it's just a rumor.

'Full Metal Panic! Another' Light Novel Series to End Next Week

The official Twitter account of Fujimi Shobo's Fantasia Bunko imprint confirmed on Wednesday that the imprint will publish the 12th and final volume of Naoto Ōkuro's Full Metal Panic! Another spinoff novel series on February 20. It will also publish a Full Metal Panic! Another Short Stories collection that same day. The Fantasia Bunko Hōsō-kyoku program on the Niconico streaming service will commemorate the ending on February 18.

So... no hope for this to be animated, huh? :/

Not necessarily, there have been quite a few manga like Koe no Katachi and Sakamoto desu ga? that got anime when their final volume came out. It's possible they might announce a new anime for Another on this stream or wait until the novel comes out and have the anime announcement on the cover band.

What happened to Sousuke, Kaname, and Tessa in Full Metal Panic Another? I heard that Mao made her appearance and married Kurz three times.

So the new anime will be in Fall 2017 and the Christmas volume will be adapted into audio drama instead. If the new anime will cover the rest of the 6 main volumes then it will need to be 2-cour season. I think we can expect the subforum will be revived.

I was wondering what/if Dragon Magazine's latest issue had anything on FMP! IV. It's nice to see a higher quality version of Xebec's ARX-7 design. The detail is looking impressive, but I'll still hold my judgements until I see it in it's animated glory. I hope it doesn't come across as too CGI since most of their mecha shows feel that way. But equally important, I curious to see the main cast animated as well with the new studio treatment. I'm know they will follow the same character designs, but I expect a slightly updated look of them, similarly to TSR's transition.

I guess the wait continues, but I look forward to seeing all of the updates in-between now and October.

From what I hear, "Die Hard on a Boat" is going to be done as a drama CD. Which suggests the new anime will likely skip it.

Maybe if the new season is successful they can go back and animate it as a Christmas Special. Love Hina got a Christmas Special, why not FMP? (Probably won't happen, but it would be nice to have at least an OVA for DVMC if the anime is going to be skipping it.)
