Also, I would like to ask people to refrain mentioning other posters (I'm the first one here, but there might be others) like this: I personally think most did bring also PROS despite there were a lot of cons in their reviews. So "if X say so" isn't exactly all that fun to read past a certain extent.
I don't take it badly to be honest, but so far, it will also give lots of misunderstanding to others regarding certain posters as result.

Okay, this was a really good episode.
Where I found that the previous one's did a good job, this did an ALMOST perfect job. I'm really looking forward to see what the anime-viewers will think about it, because it will almost be the same reaction as the one most VN reader's got back then, I think.

I was especially surprised that they actually did portray the 'exploding and falling to pieces' part was kept, especially in such an artistic manner. If this would foreshadow a future handling of the anime, I'm really looking forward to it.

First, let me say that I had a feeling that quickening the last episode pace would result in a better quality episode this time around. And by George (lol pun) I was right!~

Spoiler for Review, 1-5 spoilers:

Pros:

-Everything was pretty much left in tact from the game. Just a couple things were altered like Natsuhi's death (she was already dead when they broke down the door originally, but instead she just died when they broke it down) and Beatrice's tea party (originally she killed Hideyoshi and Eva again with flying stakes, but this was good too so no complaints.)
-I liked how they kept Bern's talk ambiguous. This way it can be taken that she talks either with Battler or directly to the viewer.
-Lots of original BGMs, like deadangle, suspicion and rougoku were kept. I thought it was odd that they replaced "Over the Sky" with "Kuro no Liliana" but it wasn't a big deal and it still fit well.
-They kept the bottled letter.

Cons:
-Shannon, Jessica and Beatrice's chest taking over the screen half the time during the tea party. It was kinda silly when Battler first looked up at Beatrice from the floor the first thing he saw was her chest. lol whut
-Maria's faces weren't as crazy but still weird. It looked like she was chibified or something. Seeing her ripped apart was good though
-They cut out some of the cousins parts during their death, like how George begged Battler to believe and how Jessica told Battler that he can't give up like they did and he needs to keep fighting on against Beatrice.

Episode overall: Definitely a good episode. See, if DEEN makes more episodes like this then I'll be very very happy!~ Even though they cut some things the overall presence and feel was left in tact and the episode's quality was great. 9/10 for me.

The first arc of the anime started on a bumpy road with the pacing and the lackluster introductions. However, each episode got gradually better in it's own way. In the end some things could have been handled better in this arc, but all and all it was good. Now to just hope people stop calling it "Higurashi 2"...of course, like I said before somewhere - Bern won't help that but oh well OTL.

Here's looking forward to the 2nd arc. The fun will now begin :3!~

Now THIS is what I call a proper adaption. I mean even if stuff was cut I wouldn't have noticed because they actually managed to keep the original mood in check and THANKGOD they kept Maria's screwed up facial expressions to a minimum and they used it properly this time. When Maria suddenly freaked out on Battler after being in her "cute mode" for a while, I thought it was the first time they genuinely did it right to an affect of her being scary (as opposed to retarded and hilariously funny...).

In fact, I am quite pleased with the wrap up of the entire episode and the first "question arc" of the series. They kept most things intact and avoided anything distracting (no tin mackerel for instance). But there was one point which I ended up not understanding why they changed it...was the fact that Natsuhi "shot herself" directly outside of the parlour. It makes little sense why she would commit suicide right outside the parlour in the first place and the timeframe was screwed since the kids actually saw her fall down.

They should have kept Natsuhi like where she was in the original, in a different location and the kids just find her body after she was shot. They also missed out the fact that smoke actually came from her gun which was the whole point of confusing the situation further.

However, the original stuff that they added afterwards with Battler shooting at Beatrice's portrait was nice. Maria really got into her insane mood here and it ended with Beatrice's laughter. The sudden skip to the tea party felt a bit off but it wasn't too bad. The rest was just a plain sail to the end where we have Bern and Beatrice. I actually quite liked the gory effect of the kids breaking down in front of Battler, heck it was exaggerated but done in quite a shocking (in a good sense) way.

Beatrice's design still looks weird to me and he voice will take some getting used to (being a different variation of Eva's voice...too deep and rough for my liking) but Bern was pretty much spot on...and she looks the best

But I did think the background settings for the final part was simply too "bright". They are supposed to be witches here...couldn't you just darken the room a little >.>

Overall quite an impressive episode and the first to have made me think "wow...now this is an adaption".

This episode was amazing. Not only was it a great adaption of the material it covered, but it was really exciting and well done too.

I'm honestly completely surprised and it gives me a lot of hope for later on.

Wonder what was that entire 2nd half of the episode... Talking to each other after they died and then a talk with witches. It seems like this world really has magic or something, so I personally can't imagine everything being explained humanly...
Still... What was with that part?... It was interesting, watching the animation, but I was left with (＾ω＾；)??? the entire time...

The part before that was also pretty good. Though I wish someone would suspect that crazy kid for once... There is clearly something wrong with her.
Her facial expressions as much of a gag as ever. (-_-)
Also, what was with the strange focus on breasts and angles this episode...
