Even though I saw a bit of new animation there... it seems like it is mainly the old animation. Also, it gives me the impression that the 2 hour movie will be nothing but a long summary of the TV series. (I was hoping for a new re-telling of the storyline.) :/

The Movie will be just an anime resume, huh? Maybe the final changes, just hoping, but look the good side: the parallel works. Without a movie, they won't exist (maybe?).

I know, but I've already seen that story. This was said to be different from the original canon, so I had at least hoped my favorite character would live on.

That was never said anywhere. In fact, I'd still like the "Same themes and characters - all else different" in the thread title to be changed because that came from an incorrect translation. The movie is a reconstruction of the TV series with some new added scenes.

Right, and on that same note... If it's just the series stuck together plus new scenes, isn't that going to make the movie hella long? I mean, the normal series is at least 9 hours long if you put the episodes back to back! Excluding episode 16. Howe are they going to carry this out without either losing a lot or completely changing plot elements?
