And here I thought it was just me! Arf's design looks extremely off in that picture... is that how she'll appear in the movie? It doesn't look right compared to her old design.

Anyhoo, re-watching A's is kind of paying off!
- That tooth length fang thing. She looks like a Saber-Toothed Tiger in that Movie 1st picture, loooooooooool.
- Snout does look off. It looks like a cross between a bear and a big feline snout to me. I guess it's because it looks too wide.
- Yes, the eyes do look different. It doesn't matter either way to me 'cause they both weird me out. >_o
- Wolf Arf with no battle armour thing looks kind of weird. But if Zaffy can do it, so can Arf. 8D
- Probably the angle, but her tail looks like.... not a fluffy tail, that's for sure. LUMPS.

Being "more detailed" doesn't exactly mean that it "looks right", though. And even then, "looking right" doesn't mean it's anatomically correct, either. yo sup CLAMP

Looking right doesn't mean being exactly like the series Arf, either. There is nothing that can relate to her since she's a one of a kind familiar that only appears in Nanoha. Using anatomy in anime, doesn't work. Frankly, she looks cooler in that image, I don't care what you guys say~

The director did say new designs, so there you go.

Arf = wolf
Arf in movie 1st picture = bear snout

Or Saber-Toothed Arf. Either way, I would like more wolfish qualities on my Arf.

Using anatomy in anime, can work. If it didn't work, we'd constantly see GONZO QUALITY. Or DEEN. I'm not going to think about CLAMP or Key.

But uh, maybe I should have made myself a little clearer. The anatomy of the body is what works. Usually. There's always something out there pushing the limits or breaking your mind like Kaiba.

The eyes pretty much kill whatever semblance of anatomy anime ever had.

Anime enlarges what loosk good, and reduces what does not. Why do you think the eyes are always so large, while the nose so small? Not to mention there is almost always a focus on pretty hair.

The body anatomy...works to some degree, but you can almost always see a difference between RL proportions and anime, with the hands and legs.

But what I'm not sure of is why I even care.

...yes, go work on Nanoha-stuff and gimme.
