Someone on the Roosterteeth forums found some Easter eggs on the Blu-ray and also on the DVD. I'll just post what the said.

Found a couple of Easter Eggs on the Blu-ray. Don't know how or if they work on the DVD.

If you go to the Watch by Episode menu, then go left from Chapter 1
(the highlight disappears) and select, you get what looks like an earlier storyboard for the opening, with what sounds like a slightly different arrangement of "This Will Be the Day".

If you go into the Special Features menu, go to the "Play All" line, then press to the left, the highlight disappears and you hear Russell saying "Ursa" in a funny voice. If you then select, you get a short video of Russell and some Ursae dancing in Junior's club to a remix of him saying different variations of "Ursa" and his lines from "Forever Fall". Very funny.

Full versions of all of the songs shown in the RWBY Trailers AND the BGMs during the episodes are available on this album, and they even put up the trailer versions too, it's well worth the money, especially when the sale ends and the price gets raised. Congratulations on making this!
Awesome! Now I can get to listen the whole ED from ep03.

Track list Disc 1:
1. This Will Be the Day (full ver.)
2. Red Like Roses (trailer ver.)
3. Mirror, Mirror (trailer ver.)
4. From Shadows (trailer ver.)
5. I Burn (trailer ver.)
6. Gold (full, played at end of Shining Beacon II)
7. I Burn (full ver.)
8. I May Fall (full, played at end of Shining Beacon I)
9. Red Like Roses part II (full ver.)
10. I Burn Remix (full song in style of Yellow trailer)
11. From Shadows (full ver.)
12. Wings (full, played at end of Black and White)

Disc 2 is 16 tracks, one for each of the web versions of the videos, in order. Contains mostly score, but there's a short but nice surprise on track 8... ^_^

Highly, highly recommended. We've all seen how talented a songwriter and composer Jeff Williams is, and how incredible his daughter Casey's voice is. Only $9.99 on iTunes for a short time. Physical copy should be showing up in RT store before too long, for the same price (plus shipping).

LOL. I love seeing people quote me from other sites... If you check the RT forums in the RWBY Discussion thread and look for posts from Tuesday night (the 12th), I also posted a review of the Blu-ray. Too long to cut/paste here.

Nora's Mysterious Weapon

I finally got my DVD today, and I haven't actually really played it yet. The first thing I wanted to know was if the animators had pasted a weapon onto Nora's back during the launch scene in episode 4, The First Step Part 1.

Here are the results:

Spoiler for images:
Next, I skipped ahead to see if they did the same thing with Penny and her knapsack (or knife case, or whatever you want to call it) and oddly enough, they didn't.

That's it for now. There are 22 separate video files on the DVD and I wanna go check 'em all out.

EDIT: What I find most curious is that the DVD was authored on September 24th, if the date and time stamping of the files on the DVD are accurate.

Does the audio mess up for everyone else at the ending scene when they have the commentaries on, for the DVD version?

also the Easter eggs are in a slightly different place on the DVD version

The Russel/Ursa easter egg is found from the Episode selection menu

The alternate opening storyboard easter egg is found on the scene select menu

How exactly does it mess up for you? I've got the Blu-ray, but I'll check to see if that has the same issue. I've watched the last episode a number of times with the commentary on (both versions), and I didn't notice anything, but there was a pretty glaring animation error in the BD/DVD version of Black and White that they corrected for the web release, and I missed that my first time through.

So glad a lot of the songs got extended versions, including Yang's theme "I Burn". A little disappointed the yellow trailer was mostly remixes of the other themes so hearing a full track is nice. Also hearing full versions of some of the ending songs is cool. Awesome soundtrack overall.

I've been waiting for so long for Jeff to finally complete Red Like Roses Part II, and he did not disappoint. The story-driven duet between Casey and Sandy really sounds like it parallels a probable backstory of Ruby and Summer Rose. I really want to know more about that and hope the next season at least sheds a bit more on the subject, if not outright airing a flashback episode complete with a loli-Ruby and Yang.

What did he do, pull on her hair? Because if he did, he got off easy.

The audio is out of sync with the video, it's early by a couple of seconds

It's weird. Kind of hard to tell over Miles' loud-ass voice, but some of the episode audio matches up and some doesn't. During the White Fang flashback, the sound of the window breaking is a couple seconds late, but in the very next scene, Ruby and Yang hollering for Blake is spot on, while still later, some of the comments in the commentary doesn't quite seem to match up with the action on-screen. Maybe the episode they were watching was changed slightly before going onto the disc.

Commentary on that episode is definitely worth it just for Miles' fanboying on the final action sequence, with him having not seen it before thanks to having to work on RvB11... It's a shame we don't get any commentary on the post-credits epilogue, but I can see why they might not want to risk saying anything during the Cinder reveal...

Speaking of Cinder, kudos to Monty for breaking tradition by having the evil villainess be as beautiful as usual, and easily the most scantily clad female in the series, but also flat as a board... ^_^
