I thought they were gonna skip the whole part with Steph's humilliation, instead it lasted the whole episode, and personally, I'm not complaining. Horrible as it may sound, the Steph bullying is one of my favorite parts of the novel, at least what I've read so far, so I loved this episode, including the added parts (Steph didn't lose so much clothing in the novel, and the whole "If your opponent is another human, you're screwed" part was glorious)
Also, once again Spoiler for Really going for it:
Once again, not complaining, their dynamic still works perfectly, and this way the more, um, delicate viewers have less to complain about. Another great mix of fanservice, comedy and serious business, this series continues to deliver, and as someone who played and loved kamidori, I welcome our new angelic guest. Now to see if she resembles the loyal one or the crazy one more |

However, it also shows you can't really be pretty, intimidating (like death), and Angelic looking, just from an initial look. |

Remember they have to agree to the game too, so something like that would not happen unless she had something that gave her a huge amount of leverage over them which is fairly impossible for her. Even more so since the only way for her to really pick the game is if they challenged her

My point is they still have to agree to the game, they still have the option to say no even if they just let her pick since really Steph doesn't have anything they absolutely need. Nothing is binding until they say the pledge that starts the game and either side could walk away. Kurami didn't have the option since she was in a tournament

this series is great thus far btw. I even went against my principles to never read a LN again and started reading it (starting from the end of EP 5).

The first one does, but only because she looks inhuman to the point where I wouldn't consider her attractive. |

Also, a picture of a gun pointed at you won't spike anyone's fear meter much, but a real gun pointed at you will heavily give off fear factor. I'm sure we'll get a lot of chances to see it in action. |

As for the LN I would suggest reading volume 2 at the least from the start as ep 5 is just the barest cliff notes of what was happening.

Steph is turning out to be my most favorite girl this season, "best" isn't enough to describe her.
all these hints about what game blank will play with Jibril is driving me crazy, can't wait until next week!!!

Mentioned in episode 5, "it won't even be a game" thus they would decline it.
To be a game to [ ] they are able to win. Thus that's how [ ] looks at things. if there is 1% chance of winning, then [ ] will win. Yes it's catch 22, but that's how [ ] works. |

Steph has a long way to go before she's really qualified to be a true ruler. It's funny that she spends all her free time trying to beat Sora/Shiro in a game when her current situation is actually an incredible stroke of fortune.
Right now, she's pretty much the ruler of Imanity in all but name. She handles pretty much everything since Sora/Shiro don't really care about governing. In fact, they don't particularly care about policies either unless asked. Sora/Shiro are an incredible resource that Steph has exclusive access to with little drawbacks. They only care about playing games and winning against the other races. Since Sora/Shiro like Steph she can pretty much use them whenever she needs something handled that she can't handle herself, and they pretty much ask for very little in return (just a little shack, daily meals, and access to books). She doesn't have to worry about them gaining political influence either. Not to mention during the games they will likely offer themselves up as the ante, which is incredibly convenient for her. Even if they lose, Steph is not harmed and Imanity still can go back to their scenario at the beginning, which was to remove themselves from the game and go under the protection of another race. They're also an incredible resource for Steph to learn from. They pretty much go easy on Steph in terms of the antes. She should be using this opportunity to learn all their tricks instead of trying to beat them through luck. She seems like a pretty smart girl so even if she might not be able to reach their levels if she can attain their knowledge and experience she'd be pretty formidable in her own right. Finally, she's the only one that knows their weakness of being unable to function when separated. She actually has total power of them, she just doesn't realize it yet. |

Spoiler for About Ruling - LN; Should have happened by now:
As for the Blacksjack game against him Sora... Well nowadays card counting is hardly possible. First off they use around 7 decks in a Casino, electronical shufflers and also don't always put cards back immediately - when they do however all cards currently not on the table are getting mixed again. So its basically just like Sora said - She made it a lot easier by arranging the cards to her liking and (what he didn't say in neither the anime nor the novel) also only using one deck.

They actually were expecting to have to deal with the politics, Steph threw them off by being a lot more capable then they had judged her. Finding out about Steph's grandfather loosing what amounted to the bulk of Imanity's knowledge made Sora Spoiler for LN of what was covered in ep 5:
