Sorry I got distracted. Here's some more of Nanoha's side. (It took me so long to write something so short T-T)

White. I opened my eyes to white. It only took me a moment to realize it was a ceiling. I sat up with a grunt and a wince, I guessed that battle took more out of me then I thought. But there was something else, something after that last battle; something else happened my mind was hazy though. Looking around reveled that I was in a standard TSAB hospital room except… something was off. The machine attached to my arm was wrong, they’d switched to different ones four years ago. I remembered that distinctly because Shamal had complained for weeks about having to spend her limited budget on a new one.

It was odd that I was alone. As far back as I could remember Fate had always stayed by my side when I was injured and even if she couldn’t Vita normally hung around or Yuuno if he had a—Yuuno! I remembered what happened, Yuuno… he was small. And my parents didn’t recognize me. Thinking back I realized they looked different then I remembered, last time I visited them I had noticed they’d started to go grey. So there was only one explanation for what had happened, and it made no sense.

I looked down at the tube connected to my wrist. I thought about ripping it out and leaving but running away wouldn’t do anything and if I was right then there was nothing I could do anyway.

I laid back down, it’d be better to rest and fully heal and then worry.


“’Oi Shamal why’d you call all of us here,” Vita flopped down on one of the waiting room’s chairs. Signum followed her suit, sitting down beside the red head while Zafira sat at their feet. Yuuno stood off to the side by Hayate’s wheel chair.

Shamal paced back and forth, “You see well… how do I say this…”

“If you’re going to stay on the medical team, you going to have to speak to people you know,” Vita yawned and rested her feet on the arm rest of Signum’s seat.
“Mimes make sucky doctors.”

Shamal ran a hand over her face, “There’s no way to say this and have it make sense.”

“Just try,” Signum offered.

“The training instructor who appeared at the Takamachi house—”

“It’s us Shamal not a bunch of your stuffy higher ups,” Vita pointed out.

“Let her speak Vita,” Zafira turned his head back to shoot Vita a stern look.

“Please Vita,” Hayate’s tone was gentle but firm.

“Fine.” At least someone in the room didn’t seem to be worried.

“As I was saying the girl Yuuno found in Nanoha’s house. Well she’s,” Shamal paused and Vita sighed exasperatedly. Shamal ignored her and continued, “Nanoha.”

Silence followed, paired with blank stares and slacked jaws.

It was Vita who broke the silence, “That’s not possible,” her voice shook. “It’s not. It’s just not!”

Shamal shook her head. “Their DNA is identical.”

“Then maybe she’s like Testarossa,” Signum offered, “is it not possible that someone created an older copy.”

Again Shamal shook her head. “The scaring on her body is old. Some scars appear to be around eight, ten years old.”

“It makes sense,” Everyone turned to Yuuno surprised to hear him speak. His voice was quiet but still strong. Yuuno’s fist was white from his far too tight grip on the handle of Hayate’s wheelchair. “She knew me when I entered but she seemed surprised.”

“So the girl is Nanoha… an older Nanoha,” Vita kept repeating those words as if they’d make more sense if she kept saying them.

“If you think about it, it could be possible,” Hayate furrowed her brow in thought, “There are all kinds of dimensions right? So one of those could be like a future one of ours right?”

“I’ll go to the Infinite Library and do some research,” Yuuno let go of Hayate’s wheelchair and headed towards the exit, “where’s Fate? She should be here by now.”

Hayate wheeled herself towards her guardians, “Shamal told her but she was working at the time so we don’t when she’ll be here.”

Yuuno nodded, “I’ll contact you if I find something,” he left.

“I need to check on my patient if you’ll excuse me,” Shamal left.

“Older Nanoha…” Vita grunted, “what will they think of next?”


“Nanoha,” I woke up to a voice I had heard many times over the course of my short life.

“Shamal?” I sat up. Shamal looked uneasy. “Do you know what happened?”

“So you know,” she sighed, “I’d hoped you’d know how you got here though.”

I shook my head. I didn’t know anymore then her. “I only know that I don’t belong here somehow I was switched with your Nanoha, right?”

“I’m glad you know that,” Shamal smiled tiredly, “I didn’t know if I’d be able to explain it to you.”

“How long has it been since the Book of Darkness incident?” I need to get an idea of when exactly I was.

“Three months ago.”

I searched my head for memories; that meant Hayate was still in her wheelchair, Yuuno was just starting to work in the Infinity Library, the Wolkenritter were working to clear their names, and Fate and I were about to join the TSAB. “Thanks.” An awkward silence fell over us as Shamal proceeded to go through her checking up routine.

“Tesstarossa!” Signum’s voice came from outside the door. Fate was here. “You can’t go in there.”

The door was flung open, “Shamal-san what happened!” Her voice was still soft even as she yelled in panic; the yellow haired girl standing in the doorway was undoubtedly the younger version of my best friend.

Tag along? As in, Keroko and Kha going to the other timeline via the Gate of Babylon? Or Kha and Keroko interacting with 9yo!Nanoha?

Prologue: A Youthful Memory

Lotte and Aria: Hallo, minna-san!

L: Ne, this isn't an official training video; this is a prank for you, mugger! Quit hunting around the library for more things to study!

A: We took great pains to bury this amongst Nanoha-chan's chronicles and elude head librarian Yuuno, and since you could find this video that makes you a bigger bookworm than him.

L: I can hardly imagine what you look like now...

A: (Aspirated) Lotte! (normal voice) Might as well summarize the video then. This chronicle covers an almost whimsical mission of the Asura to another world designated Hyren-5965, where its kingdoms have been at war over the use of special nanomachines that can only be used by virgins, as well as the technology that came with it.

An armstice managed to secure some fragile peace at the time when Nanoha and her merry maidens were called into action. The target? A Lost Logia, taking the form of a weapon that can rapidly de-atomize other weapons, was detected by TSAB surveillance to exist in one of the kingdoms there. At the same time, the Bureau discovered a massive incoming invasion of the planet by a tremendous transdimensional space fleet equivalent to 4 TSAB Divisions.

That fleet, calling themselves the "Sons of Abel", has been monitored by the TSAB for a very long time, right when they tried and failed to invade the Mid-Childa planet system a century ago. This time the Sons have far greater numbers and even carried with them several residential colonies. If that Lost Logia fell into the hands of one of the kingdoms, the armistage would be ruined. If it was captured by the Sons, TSAB may well be doomed.

And so Father sent his best ship, fresh from resolving another major crisis, loaded with the most advanced equipment the TSAB has to offer, and assigned Miss Buster's gang onto her. Their task was to retrieve/destroy that Logia subtly, but at all costs. Will they succeed?

L: I wonder. (giggles) It won't be an all serious affair for we have also included all the juicy bits left out in training videos! Oh the Spring that is Youth! Oh the Scent of Love!

A: The video might get choppy at times, but do bear with it.

Nanoha’s head shot up. “Yuuno-kun?”

Fate had to restrain herself from biting her tongue, the idea to let Nanoha see as less of this time as possible was slowly being torn to pieces. At the rate this was going this Nanoha would know everything her Nanoha did!

“Yes, Yuuno manages the Infinite Library. He’s done a great job in organizing and archiving the countless of files and books there.”

“Waaa, Yuuno-kun is managing that huge library?” Nanoha said, her eyes twinkling in amazement. The last time she had seen that library it was so huge, she couldn’t imagine ever finding a book she was looking for there.

Seeing the admiration in her eyes, Fate was remembered that no matter how much she and Nanoha loved each other, Yuuno still had a special place in the girl’s heart. Right now her curiosity must have been working overdrive trying to imagine what Yuuno would look like right now. “Do you want to see him? We can go and ask him right away, he should be at the main HQ, in the Library.”

Nanoha nodded enthusiastically. “Uhn!”

And so, after calling Ayna and asking her to take care of Vivio, Fate guided the young Nanoha through the corridors of the Mid Childa HQ. Because they lacked any proper clothing, Nanoha was currently dressed in one of Vivio’s bigger outfits. The clothing was a bit small, but it still fit.

The young girl in question was nervously, yet also curiously looking around. Fate realized that this was Nanoha’s first visit to Mid-Childa, up until now all Nanoha had seen was her home, the Arthra and the Main HQ. For Nanoha, this was an entirely new place.

Fate decided that they would take the quickest route to the Main HQ, the teleporters. Fortunately, the fact that she often took care of children like Erio or Caro resulted in no questions being asked on escorting a young girl through the base.

When they reached the Library itself, Yuuno was easily spotted. Hovering in the center, surrounded by books, Yuuno was already looking for a solution to this problem. A slightly disgruntled Arf floating several meters away answered her silent question on whether the boy had gotten any sleep at all.

“Yuuno.” She called out to him.

The boy stopped typing as he heard the new arrival, and turned to Fate, and a figure he hadn’t seen in years…

“…Yuuno-kun?”

… but was without a doubt Nanoha. “Ah, Nanoha, Fate, welcome. I hadn’t expected to see you so soon.”

Nanoha floated towards the now grown version of the boy she had met a year ago. “Your hair is longer.” She said, not really knowing what else to say.

“Yes, you said it would look good on me, that’s when you gave me this ribbon.” He answered with a smile, gesturing to the green ribbon that held his hair back in his tail.

Now that he mentioned it, Nanoha did remember having a ribbon like that. She never really used it because she had only one, but she found it a shame to throw it away.

“Yuuno.” Fate interrupted. “How did the research go?”

Yuuno nodded. “Well, we spend a lot of the evening digging through the books-”

“You mean you spend all night digging through the books.” The disgruntled voice of Arf floated into the conversation.

Nanoha blinked. “Arf-san! What happened, you’re smaller!” This was really weird. Everyone around her had gotten taller, why had Arf gotten smaller?

Arf smiled at Nanoha “It’s like my pupy-form, only for my human form. It helps keep the mana-drain towards Fate lower. Anyway.” She turned back to Yuuno. “This guy never stopped researching even once, he kept digging through book after book after book to find a solution.”

“And did you find one?” Fate asked.

“Not yet.” Yuuno answered. “But we did find an answer to the question of where this Nanoha came from.” Yuuno shifted his position and pushed his glasses a bit further back. “To keep a long story short: This Nanoha is from a Mirror Dimension.”

“A Mirror Dimension?” Fate asked. That term was unknown to her.

“Yes, a Mirror Dimension is a dimension that is closely linked to the current one. Almost everything is the same, though there are times when roles are reversed. Like how a king can be a servant in his Mirror Dimension, and vise versa. In this case, the Mirror Dimension linked to ours is a few years behind.”

Fate nodded. “So why can’t we just access that dimension and bring her home?”

Yuuno nodded. “That’s what everyone is wondering, and that’s one of the questions we solved. It appears that Mirror Dimensions lie behind a different form of ‘barrier’ then normal worlds do. A Mirror World can only be accessed through a dimensional disruption.”

“But that would mean that a Lost Logia is involved in this!” Fate blurted out.

Yuuno nodded. “It seems so, though which Lost Logia and how we don’t know.”

Fate sighed. This had raised as much questions as it had answered. “Thanks for your help, Yuuno.”

“Yuuno-kun.” Nanoha said. “You should get some rest, you look tired.”

“I’m fine, really. Say, why don’t you join us for a drink and lunch?” Yuuno said, waving away the concern and changing the subject.

“We’d love to!” Nanoha answered with a smile. No matter how much changed, Yuuno-kun was still Yuuno-kun.

This has turned rather big! The FF thread now has it's own Twist's Fate!

The mess hall that Yuuno took them to was one of the many smaller ones that dotted Central Headquarters. Still, Fate was grateful to Yuuno for playing this situation so coolly. She was inwardly dreading every moment of interaction that she was going to have with this girl – fearful of somehow messing the future for the nine-year-old version of herself that was wondering where her best friend was in the dimension that mirrored their own. Yuuno took it in stride, and his only concerned looks mirrored Arf’s own, when they were cast worriedly in her direction. Fate was not sure that she could play it cool for much longer, for her resolve was failing and the situation kept on getting more and more complicated.

Yuuno took them through the lines and waved away Fate’s offer to pay for the food. “I haven’t treated you two to lunch in a long time, Fate.” He moved his tray towards the checkout line, and his face grew more serious, Are you alright? You look as though you’re about to fall apart.

Fate smiled back at him, deciding not to comment that it was rude to open a mental communications link without telling someone before doing so. She knew that he had her best interests at heart, and that he did genuinely care about what happened to Nanoha, as they’d been best friends ever since they were very young. It hurts, Yuuno. I can’t help but worry that somehow things are bad for my Nanoha – that she’s somehow got herself into a world of trouble. Her linker core was dangerously low when she fired off Starlight, and finding herself in a strange place somewhere in her past would only serve to exacerbate her already low core.

Yuuno nodded, offering Nanoha a pair of chopsticks from the jar in the middle of the table with a smile. They’d made their way over to a secluded booth away from the hustle and bustle of the main eating area. “We’ll do all we can to make this right,” he nodded resolutely.

Nanoha looked confused for a moment, but shrugged as both Fate and Yuuno plastered their best, if rather fake-looking, smiles onto their faces and began to speak kind words of reassurance to the girl.

They ate quietly, Fate and Yuuno talking through the mental link they'd established, trying to determine the best course of action. Fate resolved to bring Nanoha back to the library the following day and to leave her there with Yuuno for some of the day as Fate did have enforcer duties that really couldn't be dealt with when there was a nine-year-old child with her.

Fate was glad that Yuuno was so willing to help.

“Come on,” Fate said to Nanoha, pulling on her coat. They’d returned to Mid a few hours ago, and Fate had been slogging through as much of the paperwork build up that had filled her in-box in the past day and a half. Now she’d done enough of it to feel as though she wasn’t going to be forever caught in the backlog when this whole ordeal was over. “We’re going to go get you some clothes that fit you. Vivio’s are too small.”

Nanoha set down the book that she’d been flipping through – it was one of the Church-run school’s books on magical theory and one of the few books that Fate thought to be actually safe for Nanoha to read. She guessed that impressing a little magical theory onto the largely self-taught Nanoha might actually be a good idea for her, for she might return to her own dimension and actually not come dangerously close to exhausting her linker core on such a regular basis.

The Fate in that dimension would thank her, if no one else.

Fate tucked Bardiche into her pocket and grabbed her keys from underneath a small mountain of paperwork that she’d decided to leave until she could concentrate once again. Having a nine-year old version of her lover in the room was doing nothing for her nerves, for every time she glanced up, she was reminded that she could not very well go home and find a set of comforting arms and a sweet smile waiting for her. She didn’t know how much longer she could take this.

Nanoha, dressed in Vivio’s clothes, looked like another one of Fate’s lost children – the strays that she picked up from time to time. No one commented on her presence as she made her way through Section Six’s headquarters. Fate was grateful for whatever discretion Hayate had urged her people, for she didn’t think that the enemy that they’d fought yesterday would hesitate to act once they realized that the Ace of Aces was missing in action.

“Are we teleporting?” Nanoha asked as they walked out into the parking lot. “Or flying?” she added eagerly.

“Head in the clouds,” Fate teased, clicking the automatic unlock on her car. The locks of the black car beeped accordingly and Fate moved at a more brisk pace towards her car – her baby – her one escape from the tedious nature of the day to day life of being an enforcer.

“I wish.” Nanoha retorted. She fell in a step behind Fate and stopped as Fate neared the car. “Mou, Fate-chan, is that yours?”

Fate grinned, “Bought and paid for.”

Nanoha blinked, “Wow.”

Fate smiled; perhaps Nanoha was old enough to appreciate what it meant to truly go fast then – even if she would rather be flying. “We’re just going into town, but we could go the long way and I could show you what she can do.”

Nanoha laughed nervously, “You – You don’t have to, Fate-chan. I trust you.” She climbed into the passenger’s seat and Fate made sure that she buckled into the seat before she put the car into gear and started it.

This would prove interesting.

Well the thing is it looks a lot longer in my word document ('cause it gets all stretched out) so when I was posting it I was like T-T I didn't write much at all.

What do you mean set up the time frame? *is confuzzled*

Since we want to keep this a week long I was going to run some mumbo jumbo of why they can't just figure out right away where in dimensional space the Nanoha's went. That and a possible solution to the problem that will take time to implement that way the rest of the time can be spent on the characters.

You're right, considering that if they could figure out so quickly what Nanoha had done, it does make sense that recovering her and switching them back would be a lot easier than we're making it, so I think it's a good idea to run some mumbo jumbo to make sure that the plot of this just doesn't seem stupid. That and Nanoha's side needs to get a little longer before we can have them happening at the same time... even if Nanoha did black out for a while...

Four minds sat at the table in the briefing room. Hayate and the GDI Colonel sat across from each other joined like wise with member of each party’s technical division.

“So,” the Colonel started “First thing first, how are we coming along with finding out the dimensional coordinates.”

“The area around the jump site is still heavily contaminated with residual magic” The TSAB technician stated. “It will take approximately three more days until it dissipates.”

“Once clear,” His counterpart continued “Our sensors will be able to analyze the disruption area to determine the coordinates of the mirror realm.”

Hayate was next to question, “Will there still be anything left to analyze when the magic clears?”

“A jump event that brutal will leave residual indicators of the target location for months” the GDI tech answered.

“What about this Lost Logia?” the Colonel inquired.

“We will need to retrieve it, not only because of the threat to the general public, but in order to access the mirror world. As me and my colleague have discussed, we can apply the functions of the Logia to the jump engines aboard our frigate. Our engines are much more attuned to shift to a new dimension than the TSAB’s that use the space as a medium to navigate through.”

“Which leads us to the next piece” Hayate shuffled her notes, “What do we need to do in order to track down the criminals?”

“These arms dealers supply physical weapons of varying levels to anyone willing to pay for them to stir up some trouble. Who ever it is that is that used that Lost Logia and started that ruckus at the start had to be local given the use of magic. We can net any suspicious dimensional travel with our sensors to tell us that a new shipment has arrived; from there we can deploy to catch the dealers with the locals.”

“And by what method do we do that?”

“As long as the dealers do not suspect GDI investigation, we will be able to catch them swiftly. We cooperate: Your transportation and some of your units as magic back up while my task force deals with the bulk of the work.”

“We do paper work while you get the glory?”

“More like we face down the bullets while you face down the magic beams.”

“All right then, I will put RF6 on standby to be able to sortie when any trafficking is detected. I will also keep tabs on the law enforcement bands for any incidence that suggest the use of physical weapons.”

“Very well Commander Yagami.”

The party got up to take their leave, but only the technicians left.

Hayate stared at the GDI officer prompting him to question the young commander. “Do you resent our involvement?”

“Honestly, yes. You have come in here with your own solution to dealing with the dimensional criminals. Do you have any respect for the TSAB’s authority over this world?”

“I have deep respect of the TSAB.” The answer shocked Hayate, “Your system has been built up around magic as it is a predominate source of its technology and weapons. For that you are best suited for handling the cases in your ream which are tied to magic. Unfortunately many realms do not have access to such abilities, or only to a very few individuals. In that case GDI is best suited to counter problems in those realms. Because physical weapons are so heavily involved in the activities that lead to Nanoha’s disappearance, I wish to employ as many resources as I can so your people do not have to deal with an unfamiliar form of combat. And when it comes right down to it, in order to understand completely how the instructor was transported and how this Lost Logia functions the properties of magic must be applied. This is an area that the GDI does not comprehend very well.”

“I see.” Hayate took in the unexpected response.

“You are a young commander Miss Yagami. It takes time to realize the best way to deploy your specialist units as well as to accept the help of those not under your command.” And with that he departed.

Landscaper!Fate

“Noodle”

Fate groaned out as she flipped through yet another channel with nothing on it. Once she got off from work she only had the motivation to eat dinner and lay around on the couch. After passing another shopping channel she rubbed her unusually sore legs and turned off the tube.

“What a bucket of fun I am…” One hand went behind her head while another went to rub her thigh. “It’s only ten thirty and I want to turn in.” After getting up slowly she made her way off to her bedroom; sore legs complaining with every step. “I haven’t even showered yet,” she said with another scratch of the head and a look at the door to her bathroom. Deciding that a shower might just be the cure for feeling like crap, she made a stop in her bedroom to take her clothes off. Once stripped, she went over to her dresser to pick out some sleep clothes.

“Today was a real thriller,” Fate rummaged through her pantie draw, “Wake up, work, come home, eat, shower, and sleep… the life of a real go getter…” She sighed after her body reminded her why she did nothing after work. After picking a pair she laid them out on the bed, taking a glance at her night stand. Eyes and face lit up in thought. “Well I could do that…” She debated the idea, wondering if she could stand long enough for a proper job, but before she could decide the phone started to ring. Going back into the living room she answered the phone and was greeted back by that favorite voice of hers.

“Umm… Good evening Fate.”

“Evening Princess. Gee you caught me at the right time, I just got naked.” The blond plopped herself back onto the couch, pulling a blanket over her body to keep herself warm.

“Oh… I guess that means you would not be able to go out tonight?” Princess sounded very disappointed.

“Sorry, even if I took a shower and got dressed I don’t think I could stand going out tonight. I’m really sore today, and not in a sexy fashion.”

“Oh, well I hope you feel better tomorrow.”

“Yea…” She played with her hair, “We could always have phone sex.”

“Umm…”

“It’s easy; just tell me what you are wearing.”

“Why?”

“So I can tell you how to take it off.”

“Eww, Fate…”

“Had to get my daily dose of embarrassing you... How about this: if I’m good tomorrow we could go out…,” she stared up at the ceiling to gather an idea, “for something to eat.”

“Something to eat?”

“Come hungry tomorrow night, I know what we could do that will be different.”

“Okay, that sounds like fun.”

“Oh and Princess, don’t were any of those pretty dresses of yours.”

”Why?”

“Because I think you might be more comfortable with pants or something. If you’re going to start walking around with the rest of us low lives you ought to start dressing like us. It will keep you from sticking out.”

“Okay…”

“Just don’t dress like a hooker, or I might want a good time.”

Princess let out an uneasy chuckle, “Okay, well, good night Fate”

”Night, Princess.”

Fate laid out on the couch, feeling somewhat better after the little chat. With a smile she got up and ran as best she could to the bedroom. Grabbing her favorite toy from inside her night stand she made off into the shower.

The girls decided to meet at their usual corner. Fate noticed while waving that the brunette took her advice well, as she was decked in blue jeans and a loose fitting pink tee shirt. ‘Damn, nothing to look at.”

“So, where are we going tonight?”

”I told you last night,” the blond motioned for Princess to follow, “We’re going to grab a bite to eat.”

They followed the usual route to the other side of town. Even though this path was walked a few times before, Nanoha still looked about, interested in every nook and cranny. The landscaper noticed this natural curiosity. She liked that Princess was curious and timid, not some stuck up know-it-all rich bitch. It is an amusing characteristic, but when she looks at her with those blue eyes…

“Umm… Fate… Why did you stop?”

Fate nodded and pointed, “Cuz this is our turn.”

Princess looked at the alley the blond pointed at and backed up a little bit. She put her hands behind her back to fidget with them and glanced at Fate with that shy embarrassed face.

“There?”

The blond stepped forwarded, “Don’t worry, its ok.” She motioned forward, getting her companion to follow close behind her. The girl was nervous, and rightfully so given what most alley ways consist of, but this one was different. A little ways in and around a corner they saw a shop nestled in this remote spot. It looked like someone cut a hole in a building and put a counter in its place. The lamps behind the counter and the red lanterns hanging on the alley side provided the only light that would attract anyone who didn’t have a sense of smell. Fate walked up to the counter and plopped herself on a stool. Princess did the same only a lot more nervously.

“What is this place?”

“A ramen shop.” She said it like anyone would know what it was.

“Ramen?”

Fate stared at the girl next to her in disbelief. “You don’t know what ramen is?” She got a nod. “You got to be kidding me…”

“Strange I was just thinking the same thing.” The cook made himself known to the customers and stood across from them. His eyes went from Fate to Nanoha ending in a light facepalm and a sigh. “Don’t make a scene again; I like to be known for my cooking, not for customer entertainment.”

“Hay, she was the one that put her tongue in my mouth.” She got a disbelieving look back. “Ok, it was my fault for putting my hands under her shirt…and pants…”

The cook turned to the brunette with a pointed finger, “No hanky panky!”

“I… ummm… yes sir…”

Fate waved her hand, “We’re not like that… This is just a friendly late night meal.”

“So in that case what will it be?”

The blond ponder for a bit while her partner looked at the menu behind the counter in amazement. “I’ll have Shōyu with thick noodles, roasted pork, green onions, and some spouts.”

“And for you little miss?” The cook lightened up after he heard Princess’ previous stammering. The girl’s eyes darted between the man and the menu unsure what to say.

“Um… Fate? What should I get?” she gave the blond a nervous look.

“She will have…” Fate gave the menu a once over, “Miso with thick noodles, pork, green onions, and butter. Does that sound alright Princess?”

“Okay.”

“Alright, I’ll go get it ready.” With that the cook went off to the kitchen, leaving the girls to themselves.

“There is nobody here.” Nanoha looked around trying to make out what she could in the alley.

“That’s because where at a break period. Even though this place is not on the main street it still gets its fair share of customers. The working group visits during lunch and dinner times, then there is the bulk of the snacking crowd two hours earlier and in another hour the drunks will start to show up.”

“So I guess this place gets a lot of business during those times?”

“Yep, when the counter is full everyone else takes a seat somewhere in the alley or has theirs to go.”

“Do you come here a lot?”

The blond chuckled, “Yeah… either during work or with some of the late night crowd.”

“And do things like what the guy said?”

This time it was a sweet drop, “Yeah, well, a couple times…” She couldn’t exactly read the expression in Nanoha’s face, but she knew that she had some explaining to do. “Well I guess I’m just a horny girl…” She tried to chuckle again but it didn’t turn out so well. “Listen,” She turned her body towards her friend, “I might be a complete horn dog but I’m not going to just jump you… again. I just really like the feel; it’s how I am.”

“Okay, I think I understand… Maybe…”

“Oh you will understand some day when you have wonderful, hot, passionate sex.” Fate grinned, “Want to make it tonight?”

“Umm, Fate isn’t that kind of…?” the girl blushed and stammered at the prospect.

All she did to reply was to turn that grin of hers into a gentle smile. “Ah, the food’s here!”

The cook set the bowls of food in front of the girls with a “Here you go” and returned to the kitchen. Fate’s face lit up at the sight of the food and grabbed some chopsticks from the counter, eager to dig in. Nanoha on the other hand slowly followed suit trying to remember how to use the utensils. She poked her meal a few times unsure of what was in front of her.

“Don’t worry, its really good.” Fate returned to her feast with a slurp of her noodles.

Princess slowly picked up some of the food with her sticks trying to figure out the best way to eat it. After a few false attempts at getting the noodles in her mouth she finally got a hold of them and gently tried to eat it. Another bite followed suit this time more pleased with the taste of this dish that was so foreign to her.

“No need to be so polite their Princess.” Fate smiled over at the girl, “Go ahead and suck it down. No one is going to care… Besides it better to eat ramen with a little slurp.”

The girls sat there eating the late night snack. It took Princess some time but she seemed to get the hang of eating the dish and forgoing her lady like manners. When the blond was done with her ramen she just sat quietly, watching her friend eat her meal. When Princess was almost done Fate decided to tease the girl a little.

“You know, the noise is such a turn on…” Princess looked at the girl halfway through her recent bite. “I wish I was those noodles.”

Naturally the girl blushed but after putting down her stick she looked back at her friend with an honest face. “Still though, that food was delicious.”

“You forgot something” Fate then made a motion with her own bowl to tell the other to drink the rest of the soup. She watched as the other complied, still getting a kick out of seeing the princess being like everyone else. Happy blue eyes returned once again returned to look at her.

“Glade you liked it.” Then something caught her eye ‘Oh, she has a little food left on her cheek, ought to clean that up!’ She leaned in a little before catching herself ‘Idiot! I can’t get away with something like that… lets see… I know!’ She grabbed her chopsticks and slowly picked the leftover food off of the girls face. The girl was only shocked by the fact that she had food on her face, that is until her partner took the food she picked up and slowly ate it.

With a small smile Fate just set her stick back down and asked for the bill. Once she paid she got up to leave. “Let’s get going, the boozer crowd will be here soon.” They left the alley way and made it back to the street corner that seemed to separate their worlds.

“I had a good time tonight Fate.”

“Silly girl, your suppose to say stuff like that when your dating.” She paused for a moment to let it sink into the girl’s head. “But, I get it. You’re just not use to having fun I guess.”

“Well, I guess.”

“Later Princess.”

“Good night Fate.” With that she started to make her way back home with a little lightness to her step. Fate watched for a moment before turning to head to her own world.

‘No, I am the silly one...’ she shrugged, ‘for feeling like I was on a date.’

Nanoha's Path

Fate was shocked, Vita and Signum totally paralised and Shamal just have move her hand to her face. Nanoha was sitted in the bed, looking at Fate with no idea of what to say

"W...Who is she?" Fate said with her hand shaking, but it was obius that she had recogniced the person who was in the hospital bed... "Na..noha?"

"Uhmm... I think we better close the door" Vita said as the time she pulls Fate inside the room and close th Door

"What is going on?" Fate asked again

Hayte took Fate's hand and started to tell her what Nanoha has told just a few moments ago, after that Nanoha started to speak once again, it pass something like an hour of Nanoha's talking without noone who interrupted her, she tolds every single detail since she go to that fight, use Starlight breaker and end in that time, although she not give any more detail of the upcoming Future cause she knew that reveal that kind of Info could bring more troubles

"And... do you know who could do this?" Hayate Asked

"No" Nanoha said

"But there is something more important" Zafira interrupted "Were is the Nanoha of our time?"

"I think that is obius" Vita quikly said "If you are here... and younger Nanoha is not, maybe she is in your time"

"You are telling that whoever do this, change me with my younger self? But why?"

Everybody remaind silent, Nanoha could feel the curius sight of younger Fate taht at that moment haven't say anything, but in that moment Signum blinked scary

"Oh no... Oh no.. this is'n good, this isn't good!"

"What's going on Signum" Shamal asked to Signum woh had standed up

"My God, don't you see? The one who change Nanoha with her futureslef do it because he or she wanted to have a weaker Nanoha in his/ her time..."

guh. this story is getting so good that I feel completely unmotivated to write anything else. This is a shame, I'm sitting on a rather major Mai-HiME cliff hanger in one of my other stories.... WHY!?

Oh yeah, because this fic is so awesome there are not enough words to describe it.

I've got the Fate side in a word document, and I was thinking about going through and running a spell check on it... according to my word count we're sitting, right now, at about 10,000 words, btw.
