(L) Shikabane Hime Kuro

Marathoned up till ep 11 (kuro) in 2 days. (On break)

Meh, I don't seem why everyone is fuming at the mouth. It's trashy shonen horror pulp but it's still fun and very easily digestable, the last few episodes are what turn the show from mediocre to okay though.

Still was dissapointed with the animation, was down right crappy for FAR too many episodes.

Who is your fav Shikabane Hime?

Mine is tie between Makina, cause being the protag she's the one who has most development and Flesh for ahem (two) obvious reasons.

And that sure was the case... (O_o)
The previous episode was so good, but what is this last episode?!

-The first part was pretty dull... Though kind of funny. The Shikabane-hime's group gives a bond speech, and the two Shikabane proceed to die instantly. The balloon loli gets killed by her own monster balloon, and the old man just gets ripped apart.

-The second part... was mainly what the script had Akasha do. The sniper opens up the tomb of Akasha's ex-Shikabane-hime, and when he sees her, he just pretty much throws Hokuto away. And then the story proceeds to having her uppercut him to death and we don't see him again.
And for some reason, the bug guy is still alive!

-Then the last part... We get a peaceful section which has Ouri trying to invite Makina to living a peaceful and normal lie, we get to see his schoolfriends again (hey, they sure were lucky to stay alive to the end, huh...), and they decide to finish off Hokuto.
And guess what, it ENDS there. In the middle of the fight as Makina is punching Hokuto and the bug guy telling her to stop for some reason.

IT ENDS THERE.

Not only that, but the overall art quality wasn't that high this episode. The part around and after 18:00 was purely odd. Like the character design (mainly the eyes) changed or something...

Spoiler for final thoughts:

It wasn't bad. Let me state that first. It started out real dull, but it got better as it went along. Although it had boring times as well, the second season was mainly a lot better than the first, perhaps. Though the way the second season ended was terrible, considering there is no more seasons...

The OP/ED were also all good. Though it was unfortunate the OP didn't change... And the 2nd season's ED's visuals were just... like that.

Animation quality for action scenes are also decently high.

Can't really say I felt attached to many characters, but they were decently done too.

Though, as everyone knows, the worst part perhaps, and the most well-known part of this anime(?), is the horrible voice acting...

So all in all, 7/10.

Hokuto!... Don't really have a favorite Hime, but I do like the balloon Shikabane('s inside) and Hokuto...

To be honest I'm not surprised how this ended since the anime pretty much bombed entirely infact the only reason why I watched the first season was because Gainax was involved and then when Feel took over for the second season and I wasn't entirely impressed. I'll agree that the second season was better than the first but not by much since it had a very dull start and when it finally started to kick up it reverted back from time to time, there was also alot of unneeded elements in the second season but wre probably needed just to increased interest in both parties. So all and all I'm dissapointed in how it turned out in the end though not surprised at all, coincidentally this is the third anime that started in the fall to disappoint me (Linebarrels all around and Michiko to Hatchin) so maybe it's just declining interest on my part as well

my guess is there has to be some sort of Ova, Movie, or third season to leave it off like that

Hate to break it to ya but it was only planned for 25 episodes and there aren't any plans for a continuation currently based on sales figures and the manga being at the state it is at this point. Perhaps something special for the last DVD but chances at this point are slim.

lmao i kinda find this info hard to believe when there's already 25 episodes out (Season 1 being 13 and this season has 12). Anyway yeah looks like there will be a wait to see how it ends

Although nontheless, I am still rather disappointed that all the momentum from the previous episode just seeminly packed up and went on a holiday altogether. For reasons Serenade had already stated, just what the hell was that at the start where some old man shinkabane was so high and mighty one minute and turned into swiss cheese the next. Not to mention Akasha getting a random ass raping like that after I gave him so much tragic points, and I thought he was smarter than that >.>

The the sudden and chaotic, lul worthy end to the ep...seriously if I didn't hear about the DVD only end, it would have been much more awful than this (though it still is pretty awful).

Anyone want to place bets that the DVD-only episodes will just deal about boring dialogue, and while it may end properly the storyline it won't put a good conclusion for all of the characters, though.

It was a decent ending given the animators did not adapt to the manga faithfully. The manga story line is completely different (And yes, a lot better). I need to find volume 10...
