Believe me Tak, you would not have enough money to keep him in working order. Nevermind all the fuel it's spending xD
And if you are already preparing to spend that much money then but this instead: http://www.kungfo0.org/theweb/ebay/mig.html |

Nah, I have no joy with modern fighters. If I am going to take a loan of 200K, I might as well spend it on a Yak and a T-34, which cost 40K & 50K respectively. Then use the rest to mock them up.
The Yak for example, could be modified to look like a BF-109. - Tak

vs Anzio
Finally got to watch the Anzio OAV.
Same ole, same ole. Wait! Come back! I'm not done yet! It's the same old highly entertaining romp, using the same old mix of cute girls doing cute things in amusing ways while in traditionally not not cute tanks. It's the same old stuff that was in the TV broadcast, and HOT DAMN, I want more of this same ole same ole stuff. Enough of that. I want to talk about the animation, which i'm wont to do. I am impressed with the animation in this OAV. I could care less how many sparkles you put in a scene, or how many effect layers you can stack on top of an image, or how flashy you do your 3D CG. What impresses me with this animation is the motivation. Is it flashy? Will it cause you to jump up and scream "Wow that's a lot of animation detail!" Nope, and nope. All the details (and the incredibly competent 3D CG) are very understated, they were put in and exist for one reason. To give the characters life, give them subtle hints of their personality beyond their base character deign and what they say. They friggin' animated the thing, picking and choosing the correct scenes to give extra attention, and it worked beautifully for me. Characters blink*, background characters move, do things and sometimes look at the person speaking, the girls talk with their hands, and not just static mouth movements... I could go on and on. Basically, Actas -animates- the series, give it life and motion, instead of looking for every conceivable way to avoid drawing frames. It's not flawless, but they pay attention to details, and aren't afraid to be generous with those keyframes. Actas, for actually being an animation studio that animates, I stand and salute you! *Side note: Miho doesn't blink as much as everyone else. Usually I'd chalk that up to laziness, but here it seems to be done on purpose. You know what else I loved (besides all of it)? Spoiler for for additional reason:
Spoiler for Poor Saori:

You are very observant. I have noticed some of that when I tried taking screencaps. They didn't always animate every frame, but instead they stagger some of the changes - the problem is that I have to take a lot more frames down to get everything

I've watched the Anzio episode as well, and it's funny and generally good (the manga version was really bad, IMO).
Despite using some Italian people to check on terms, I can say that a lot of what Anzio says during battle isn't really what I'd call the correct terms... |

Looks like they're releasing an entire book for the Girls Und Panzer x World of Tanks collaboration.
