Not the way she did. It wasn't a heroic per see - it was a total bloodshed that she was enjoying (grinning). Thats a psycho mode already. If it was a'normal' heroic act we would not have seen such expressions on her face like in that battle.

so far the first one which is 1.0
a re-do in better quality has been released 1.11 which is Blu-ray

atm we're on movie 2.0 which is the second movie and which I think is in cinema's now D:
this thread is so chaotic I can't even figure out if it is out in cinema yet or not

Not really. At the times she was happy when she found out that her mom was in unit 02. She was not really happy killing the Eva series, but was happy that finally she would have the same hax level as unit 01. But as it turn out, 02 does not have berserk mode

I have to admit, I'm wondering that myself. However, I can't even tell if there are one or two angels left. In Eva 1.0, when Gendo said that there were six angels ramaining, was including the sixth (which had yet to be defeated) or not?

Certainly Kaworu is one of the angels left. Is he the only one? If so, I would think that perhaps Eva FINAL would include the Eva Series. If not...well, then there's one last angel to deal with...what or who could it be?

As an external observer looking in, and not being part of the actual productions, it's going to be hard to quantify just what Anno was actually trying to do with the series prior to his depression, but we've seen the result of it, and even after a decade a lot of people agree that for all it's faults, NGE was certainly different from the mecha series that preceded it, and as a result of this perceived difference influenced on some series that followed. It's nothing new -- Zeorymer did it with it's OVA, but it wasn't mainstream enough.

Compare THIS series to a straight-up hotblooded mecha anime of the same era: GaoGaiGar.

Some prefer to call it a deconstruction (which is stretching things a bit) of the genre, as it's the closest term that fits people's minds on what seemed like a deliberate use of expected themes, but contrasting in execution. Compare it with its contemporaries in 1995 -- Giant Robo and Gundam Wing come to mind.

I saw the movie last week. It was great !
I did not read all the topic but I am surprised that people take care so much of the Asuka's eye patch

I did not read all the topic but I am surprised that people take care so much of the Asuka's eye patch One of the good point of the movie is the music : Spoiler: - Original music - Remix music - New epic music - Kare Kano's music !!!! (for the daily life and also the sad piano tracks) (IMO one of the best anime OST) I was only bothered by the strange songs included during violent scenes (Eva being eaten) ... it does not fit at all. I think they used such a childish track to decrease the violence impact of the scene but a better song could be chosen ...
