Yes. Though some of those were better than what her father wrote. The dialogue wasn't nearly as bad as George's before editing.

Could these recent findings affect the story of Episode 7?

They point out her name as Leia Organa Solo, but fail to point out the Corellian Smugger's ship is owned by her future husband Han Solo while trying to establish family connections for an inside job?

Lucasfilm Animation is being hit with layoffs (guess the optimistic theory that they cancelled clone wars to work on an Episode 7-related cartoon was...overly optimistic), and it turns out we won't be getting most of season 6, but just two story arcs. One of those arcs was supposedly pulled from season 5, so it's likely already done and largely ready to air, and the other arc deals with a premature following through of Order 66. So, any hope for more closure with Anakin/Asohka/Rex, etc seems dashed.

By all reports, it seemed the Clone Wars was doing well, so this makes Disney's decision all the more puzzling. I guess they want to really make the franchise, as a whole, their beast now, and want to jettison existing products. I hear Level 1313 has been shelved as well, which looked like a great "reboot" of sorts to bring us a gritty story/game set in the Star Wars universe. I hope that game's shelving wasn't done because Disney doesn't want that type of grittiness attached to the IP. If Episode 7 is more Jar Jar Binks, than Darth Vader, I'm going to hurl.

I am concerned that all non-movie stuff will be scaled back significantly. It makes no sense, given how profitable SW is in other forms of media.

It could be a manpower thing. Or they want to shift so that when the film comes out they can multi-media the hell out of it.

They might be preparing for a reboot of sorts. In that they might want to push for new stories set after Episode VII. So they wind down current projects in anticipation of new IPs.

I can see that, but I don't think it necessarily explains all of it. Some of the projects being thwarted would probably have no effect whatsoever on a post-Return timeline.

For example, 1313. I was really looking forward to that based on what we'd seen already.

I read somewhere else that it's been "delayed."

I think the thinking seems to be that it's still in production like how Beyond Good and Evil 2 is "still in production" *winkwinkwink*

ie: on paper, sure, in practice, no.

But it isn't in "Duke Nukem Forever" territory.

Well... fuck. I'm conflicted about this. I was looking forward to 1313, but knowing that other studios will have their chance with star wars games leaves room for a bit of giddyness.

Y'know. I've come to realize this:

It's a classic business strategy to buy off other companies -- and then gut them; all in order to make money off of its parts.

Going to have to look for somewhere else for that X-Wing/TIE Fighter series update.

I'm slowly starting to really hate this Disney acquisition. Episode 7 is going to be like 2 hours of my life. Was it really worth giving up everything that seems to be getting axed? Probably not.

The shutting down of Lucasarts has proved extremely destructive to the animation industry here in Singapore. There's a huge pool of animation talents here and Lucasarts has always been subsidised by the government to recruit locals, now all of them are jobless and the pool is overflowing.

Most of Lucasarts productions were made in Singapore, including Rango and the entire Clone Wars.

Actually, since Lucasarts wasn't doing squat with the X-wing games anyway, this only increases the chance of another one, since now external companies can start poking around asking "hey, mind if we...?"
