Wow, they managed to get so much material in this episode, im really pleased!! I actually expected only about half of it so this episode didnt drag at all. I'll wait for the subs to come out to talk more about it.

Loved it.
The recruiting scene was well done with most of the recruits walking away. When they put on their new uniform. And Mikasa's excuse for Eren's attempt at killing her being "Eren was trying to hit a fly" Can't wait until next episode. That preview...

I'm assuming you did it because you're manga reader and would naturally know what would happen. Still it's not in good practice to do that since this Is an adaptation, which have a high chance of betraying expectations.
Anyway, this week felt a little lilke a Jean episode despite the focus everyone In general. Most of cast came to terms with what they wanted do internally, but Jean's decision had the most impact especially with his relationship with Eren. This probably the best terms those two have ever been on. Annie joining the MP is pretty suprising though, she had always struck me as person with the most nerves of steel among the cadets. Despite the many things I dislike about this series, I have to fully admit that this was a very good episode. They accomplished a lot here and in a lot of great ways. Especially that recruitment scene was quite great. All of the serious and dramatic conversations were surprisingly easy to watch, and getting the perspective of Armin and the recruits was a nice touch.
Perhaps now that they're out of the muck they were in before, moving on to the survey corps and greener pastures, the episodes will be better. That's the impression I got here and from the previews. I certainly hope that this is the case.

That was an interesting episode. They focused a little, but not too much on what happened with the disposal of the 2 titans from last week.
I was really surprised that Annie did not join with them. Annie was prominent in the intro and the ending, so it was really a shock when she did not join. However, being as prominent as she was, I do not expect that this will be the last that we see of her. For some reason, I still believe she will join them someday. Btw, out of the new recruits, I love Crista, Mikasa, and Sasha. They are definitely my favorites. If Crista ever gets eaten by a titan, I'll probably cry... well, at least scream really loud for a very long time. As for the preview, we knew it was coming, but I did not expect it to happen as soon as they step outside the way. I think this mission will be used to increase Eren's control of his titan form. I'm betting that is the main objective, and Eren will progressively get better. Also, the new recruits are the ones that are willing to be there. They will also most likely be high caliber soldiers with a higher chance to survive than all the ones that left.

Also I finally 100% got Ervin plan on making all the people quit and giving out all that information dude is a genius. And looked boss as hell riding on his hoarse Ervin is underrated he is not the commander of the recon corps for no reason. Heck think of how many series were the commander never fights or is talked about in terms of strength and could wipe the floor with said thought to be strongest character. I forgot much about what happened in this episode was to busy being a fan Of Ervin.Screw the Mikasa and Levi fan club Ervin could probably kick both their asses,HAIL ERVIN. Also the feels the scene Jean thinking of Marcos death bought out why must this series have so much more feels than the manga its to much I almost cried again. Well that is all I really hope the next episode does not suck please have good and fluid animations I would hate to be reminded how good this anime can be for next episode to suck.

So many subtle hints that only manga-readers would understand and be amazed at.
Moving on, the pacing of the episode was good, all things considered. It is definitely showing some bit of downtime and character development for most of the main characters in the story, and now next episode will be tackling the expedition inside Wall Maria. Also... what the heck? Here I thought the Female Titan would look more flesh-like than muscle-like. *shrug* Oh well. |
