college life anime

I'm looking for some anime that takes place in a college setting. An anime that focuses on college life.

I'll recommend Nodame Cantabile and NHK ni Youkoso!

You might also try Genshiken. Its about a anime/manga/video game club at a college.

I also seccond the previosly stated anime:

NHK ni Youkoso - although there isn't too much college (I know there is some, but its not a big part of it.) it is a dark comedy about a college aged person. The manga is good as well.

Honey and Clover - This one is about an art college in japan and a group of students who go there. In my opinion it was one of the best made anime I have seen in a long time.

Nodame Cantabile - Its a romance at a music college in japan. Similar art work to honey and clover.

Ah My Goddess and its sequel revolve around a college student. A must watch if you're in to harem type comedy, but it's not bad for other elements, either.

i'd also like to hear about more college-life type titles.

ai yori aoshi has a college element though i wouldn't say it's about college life as much as some other series mentioned here. i think honey and clover, genshiken and nodame cantabile are the best fitting ones named so far. it's actually surprising there aren't more since i imagine anime would be as big on college campuses in japan as it is in north america.

I would definetly recomend Nodame Cantabile! A lot of it is focues on the college experiences of the main characters, and plus its just a great series.

Genshiken is about an college otaku club. I have not watched the whole series yet, but it gets pretty good reviews.

Love Hina, Ai Yori Aoshi, Mahoraba ~Heartful days and Oh! My Goddess all feature college age characters, although college life is not the primary focus of these series.

College settings are definetly less common than high school or even junior high in anime and manga.

Genshiken is by far the best school related anime, ever. Period.

Sorry but both Great Teacher Onizuka and Aishiteruze Baby are set in a high school. They are great nonetheless.

I'll second Genshiken. It's a parody of otakus and their interactions with 'commoners'. Nothing insulting though, just good fun about stuff we otakus already know about. Think of it as a funnier Lucky Star.

I second (third? fourth?) Genshiken. It's a great show. I also heard they were making a Genshiken 2!

Yep. Gonna start in ~3 weeks. Can't wait. Definitely the most anticipated series of the upcoming season for me. I just hope it's subbed well. (I'd be happy for it to be oversubbed... it's well deserving of it.)

I think that means for more than decent (2) groups subbing it, even against demand.
