I'm not sure about you guys, but this anime just screams SRW and Gainax for me.

This show is like a Keroro Gunsou tuned towards moe or Lucky Star tuned towards mecha, produced by Gainax and added a plot.

I can't wait to see more mecha references, parodies, homages and puns, this show is amazing lol

Edit: By Gainax, I mean it carries the insanity.

Mmm not quite as fun as the first episode...Maybe lack of our AI with an attitude or the general pace of it all I dunno...Wasn't thrilled that they made honoka look so good at the start of this only to get taken down in no time during the mech fight later...

The OP was...ahhh...yea...moving on...

Atleast Imo-chan continues to be almost diabetes inducingly cute...

I just realized that in ep 2, Sunrise had skipped an entire shower-scene. There was sound of a shower while the camera was outside the building, and the next thing we see is Kannagi walking on camera in a bathrobe.

Is the showerscene DVD only? Or is this Sunrise's way of saying "we could fit more fanservice if we wanted to, we are just restraining ourselves."?

This is really the trend I am seeing with this show. There are far less fan service in the show than it logically could hold.

I think that's because of the TV network they're airing it on.
TV Tokyo doesn't often have much fanservice like naked girls, or excessive violence.

I'm not sure what this anime is yet about but it looks entertaining so far from the first episode. Hearing Jun Fukuyama voicing for the emo Leopard just makes my day.

Let's not forget that considering the skimpiness of her ero-suit Itsuki could hardly reveal much more in a shower scene. Or maybe the moment just was not ripe for the good ol' shower of angst.
Spoiler for ep.2:

@VCV and others

The DVD and BD of volume 1 has already been announced, and it'll be a director's cut with 50 cuts added.
That's a whopping 4 min of additional footage for episode 1.
(Sources: both amazon and AV watch web site)

So yeah, expect to see a lot of new material in the disc versions.

Damn, Sunrise is outdoing themselves with this anime. When I said this year would be a merchandise year for anime and lots of selling, I didn't expect Sunrise to go all out with this one lol

Already grabbing onto Goodsmile and releasing figures when the anime has just started to air, it has a DVD with so much extra content, we still haven't got to the mecha models that will be released. This anime may just turn out to be extremely successful.

I'll be placing orders on the figures as soon as they're released lol, if I'm a fanboy of anything besides SRW, it will be Goodsmile and Maxfactory.

They still can't out sell Gundam though, nothing sells better than Gundam.

But this show keeps mecha and moe otaku collectors happy lol

I, for one, look forward to the model kits. I've always found those more fun than simple figures; I enjoy the act of putting them together the most.

I used to build Gundam models, had like 20 or so until I found that I do not have much time for such nowadays. So I'm spending more on figures and Chokogin than models now.

But I also have great interest in unique builds, not the usual MS. So I got mechs like Zegapain, Nirvash spec 2, waiting for Valsione and such. The QT-Arms definitely are unique, so I'd be getting their models if they do have it.

QT-Arms is one of the most amusing abbreviations lol

Instead of generic ones like MS, AS or overly fabulous ones like LFO, KMF etc, QT-Arms is a really great pun lol

The abbreviation meaning Quantum Technology Advanced Reinforced Maneuvering Shroud is enough to make my head explode.
Oh, Japan.
