Japan and Taiwan monitors Chinese naval moves
http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/fron.../10/2003532432

Could anyone check at least the FACTS before posting? According to the map provided by the Taipei Times, the ships are far in the pacific ocean. They are no nearer to the shoal in dispute than the naval base at the Hainan island. Plus, they have conducted such naval exercise every summer for a few years by now.

Oh dear...
Worst part of that is, there are countless Americans supporting the idea of this genocide.
You see these "extremists" who are nothing but pot calling kettle, expressing their hatred everywhere they go, and they are not the "few nut-case cult groups" like you'd want to believe.
No, they are everyday Ameicans, brainwashed with hatred, mentality reverting back to the KKK days.

I see them all the time. Texas is full of it, and I imagine there's plenty in other states too.
They are not the majority, but they are far from insignificant minority.
I fear what evil awaits this nation if these mindset keeps growing.

I'm a Muslim myself but I would like to say that this "radicals" are just pea in the total Islamic population of the world. Islam is a religion of peace and that's fact. This "radicals" only use religion as a way to justify their acts just like those during the Reformation and Inquisition.

Terrorism itself is a violation of Islams ideals. Any form of evil doesn't have a sit in Heaven

^Any religious radicals are pea in the major population. In any religion.

Unfortunately those who hate and label them, tend to be a lot larger than peas.

I agree with that. But I hope they will not continue to generalize us Muslims because once the religion itself is attack that would definitely justify aTrue Jihad similar to the Crusades.

Crash deals blow to Russian aerospace revival

The hilltop crash of a Sukhoi passenger jet ferrying journalists and dignitaries on a mission to drum up foreign sales in Indonesia potentially casts a shadow over Kremlin efforts to restore Russia's once mighty aerospace industry.

Altar boys? You mean the ones who are sacrificed like during the Tenochtitlan times, or the ones that are whipped on the behalf of another boy's sins?

P.S Ignore the second part. Tell Sume-nee that she saw nothing.

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

Extrapolating a trend that has hardly been going on for half a century 1000 years into the future is a bit of a stretch.

Quote:
"If the rate of decline continues, we will be able to celebrate the Children's Day public holiday on May 5, 3011 as there will be one child," said Hiroshi Yoshida, an economics professor at Tohoku University.

"But 100 seconds later there will be no children left," he said. "The overall trend is towards extinction, which started in 1975 when Japan's fertility rate fell below two."
Oh come on... someone just learned how to plot a graph and needs to tell the world of his findings?
With economy professors like this, I fear more for Japan's economic future than their population size.

It is a bit troubling to me that, at least according to the article, sales for adult diapers have "slightly surpassed" those for babies.

1000 years is still a long ways down the road. There's still a lot of time, and trends aren't irreversible.

They need to elect someone like mangatron as the "population minister"......

If the philosophy of having a family changes to "it is good to start young", I don't mind running for that position.

Raising the population is not the point.
Japan is one of the most densely populated larger countries in the world already (and that's with big parts of it being mountains). Which is why the whole argument over extinction is incredibly stupid.

It's the ratio of old to young, which is problematic.

We just need to dispose all the old folks in the sea, feed it to the fishes.

Easy solution.

Soylent green man! Why waste food? Even if they are all skin and bones at that age we can always repackage them as LFTSG (Lean Finely Textured Soylent Green).

It's hard on the rural population, sadly. Look to eastern Germany and how everything falls apart because of no youth. Same thing in Japan, I guess.

But I'm really interested in how Japan will develop without major immigration as opposed to e.g. Germany with considerable amount of immigration (and with EU plans to open up to Africa and other culturally very different countries). Who will have more quality of life in 50 years? Empty villages vs. race problems?
