Sengoku (Present) 19 - Upon the Stage
The tone didn't really get any cheerier from last week. The world was still soaked in grays and other dark colors. Not even Mitsuhide's naturally purple hair could change the tone. I thought it was a little weird that everyone involved in the play was from previous episodes, but since it was a play, they would need people who already had other identities to do it. Thus why Meiko was Hideyoshi and Ieyasu was Machiko. Those final few moments were bizarre, with Morilanty and Kibayashi's double deception, and Nobunaga being dead. Only she really isn't. We know she isn't. She's been in several episodes before this. So we had a play within a dream, all taking place in Mitsuhide's mind. This version of Mitsuhide is far less snippy than Yahagi or Kitamura's takes. Yoko Hikasa brought quite a lot to the performance. Mostly because, for her, Honnoji has already happened. And on that note, thanks to Nobuna, I caught the name in the pun Okemi Hazama. Clever, writers. (Not only that, Oke(mi)hazama was played by Yoshimoto. Another layer of creativity added.) And we're in the middle of a two parter. The stage has been set. |

Hi there everybody. My name is Cyprene, and I'm the translator for Sengoku Collection. I hope you're all enjoying the show. When I was working on the latest episode, episode 19 "Vengeful Fangs-IS", it occured to me that parts of it might be difficult to follow for a western audience, especially one who's not familiar with the tropes its using. Some of you, I'm sure, understood it all, including the things that we couldn't really get across in the translation. For the rest of you, I'd like to give you some background information, along with a few other little notes that might be of interest.

But imagine that the pillar of fire or the temple that was on fire .... Oda would "commit suicide"? jumping in but for some reason there was a magic in that moment that the enmmener in our time and thus save narrowly ...? example may be that at that time to Honnuji she trying to kill Oda has escaped from the temple it is outside and they talk follows that Oda decides to jump into the fire and what happens what happens ... which is why Akechi Mitsuhide was quite worried when she called that day? But here she finds herself in our time also loses the memo and forget their conversation and when she remembers she did recalls that she made to kill Nobunaga Oda-sama ...?

the only words to say on this ep.19 ONORE DECADE!!!
this week meet Akechi Mitsuhide with lost memory & is a detective. see a headless body corpse yet wonder on it. the "suspects" oh sure we see those "names" before maybe hmm? each have different stories but did not do it. then Akechi Mitsuhide wonder if was Morilanty did it? ask Morilanty but revealed but it twist also reveal from her & Mitsuhide's "assistant" it was Akechi Mitsuhide did it. so Akechi Mitsuhide see the body it was Nobunaga?! cue big what it was all stage play (3 miko give flowers)?! then the "assistant" tell Mitsuhide say words to say it all. & ta da it was all dream with Mitsuhide confess i "whacked" Nobunaga?! indeed this is went from lost memory to mystery to stage play to dream to INCEPTION & yet next ep is part 2 of Mitsuhide story!!!

That was a very different episode.
(lots of pics below) Spoiler:
At beginning I tought the girls were doing some RP playing Detective. But in the end it was a play, but then again it was just Akechi's nightmare in where... she killed Nobunaga, you bastards! I didn't see it coming. The story may progress now. (or not, because there are still lots of girls in the opening to introduce) Next ep a direct continue, like we had with Ambitious princess. Quote:
The japaneses were putting these info about the movie/series that based each episode in the japanese sengoku collection wikipedia. But it's like they deleted that stuff and aren't submitting it anymore. I saw some info on japanese blogs though, but I don't know japanese so I'm not sure. Ep 15 for example, I think they were talking something about a movie called Death Ship. Last edited by Jasque; 2012-08-10 at 00:05. |
