The whole time, Annie was with Godou and co. undercover until she slips away(a bit like ultraman here) and returns with the custume. And the whole time, neither Godou nor Annie knew who they really were until Godou summoned the boar at these apes that were chasing their car.And even then, Godou never learnt the real identity of JPS. Before that, Annie introduced herself as an ally of JPS whilst Godou was titled the leader of the expedition--with the girls intentionally omitting the fact that he's a campione.

EDIT:I just re-read some of the sequences of the novels, no where does it say that campiones react to one another. In fact, in volume ten,

, during the first meeting between Alec and Godou,it's been directly mentioned by the author that unless it's a meeting with heretic gods, campiones don't get any special reaction, even when another campione's closely nearby.

Hi, I'm a member who recently got into the novel, read up to volume 5 , since the anime was totally awesome.
Anyway, if it's not too much trouble could someone answer these questions for me.
1. Is the campione from China in volume 6, 7 the woman with the glasses.
2. Alice is a campione using the fake name John pluto smith, Right?
3. Who are the campiones and what abilities do they have.
4.Are there any campiones who have a crush on godou
5.Volume 9, athena dies? Really? How?
6.Volume 12, what's with lily hugging, sth happen?

The Campione list should be within the first few pages of this thread.

The rest are major spoilers, so I would recommend just waiting for the full translations.

Voban versus Godou. Voban couldn't find Godou. When Godou run away from the fight. If Campione could detect another Campione then he could have found Godou all by himself. Instead of waiting while his undead servants search.

no your getting the two things confused.

This entire topic is a paradox as farzi is stating, which is also confusing me.

It was said, that Godou can not use his powers unless certain conditions were met.
One of those conditions was a presence of a divine.

Meaning If a campione was standing next to him not leaking any powers, yes they can probably go hidden.
The moment Annie busted a power of divine nature, Godou's spidey sense should of went off.

Also, u cant hide from Yuri.
Im sorry, she has 6th sense, can almost recall the future.
Look at what she is capable of from Vol.6 translations alone.

Yuri should of been able to see that Annie was a campione like how Yuri saw Godou as a campione at the shrine meeting in vol.1.

Remember the HCC sent Yuri as a sacrifice to confirm if Godou was a campione where Yuri saw that he was. Campiones generate massive amount of magical power without them being aware of it.
Even Erica and Yuri has told Godou... the most powerful mage would still be fodder to a campione.
Not even Yuri's sister's powers works against a campione.

Yuri saw Vorban as Campione.
Yuri saw Godou as Campione.
Im sure Yuri even saw Loa Hao as a campione too.

There is no way unless the author made a opps Yuri would miss Annie as JPS.
There is also NO WAY Lily could miss Annie as JPS..

That is a 40% chance to not notice Annie is a Campione. Lily only has a 10% success rate.

When Yuri was sent to confirm if Godou is a campione, she believed all Campione were like Voban. In that case you don't need spirit vision to identify them if you know the personality (and corpses) to look for. The spirit Vision is just an extra confirmation.

Also, I'm pretty sure JPS was described as a magician. In that case maybe she had a way to control her magical aura, having learned the techniques before off'ing a god?
