Though if they do end up creating another Star Driver it'll probably be the last time I include BONES on my list of top tier/favourite studios.
BONES is the new DEEN in terms of plot enhancements.

This is good to know both in terms of setting the record straight and in terms of what to expect, thanks.

I also think that B studio delivers the best quality animation. RahXephon was great. Xam'd lacked Nakamura, but overall animation was really impressive. Eureka Seven had that filler arc which was shit (soccer episodes etc), but overall like Xam'd really good. I don't even have to say anything about Stranja. It speaks for itself. I'm just not too fond of long waits between episodes. Even when they're worth it, like in Gundam Unicorns case.

It was fun. But the animation and art sucked for those 5 or 6 episodes. Thanks for the new trailer!

Edit: well damn. There's a lot of cg in this..

The DVD/BD release for the movie series has finally been announced. The first volume will be released on 26th Aug 2011. Unfortunately, it seems that my fears that this is basically a 6-part OVA instead of a real movie series has proven to be true. The first "movie" clocks in at a mere 45 minutes, shorter than a single volume of Gundam Unicorn. Oh well.

Credits for Ep1:
Script - Saizo Nemoto
Storyboard - Takeshi Mori
Episode Director - Hiroshi Haraguchi
Animation Director - Toshihiro Kawamoto/Takeshi Yoshioka

It's totally fine with me. To me the most important thing is that the new episodes will come within a month.
And thanks for the information (:

Doesn't surprise me, as it will only be shown in five cinemas nationwide. Sunrise did the same with the three new Votoms-OVAs. I'm not sure if they even expect to generate revenue by bringing TnQ to such few screens, and the price for the first three OVAs is really cheap with 1.000 Yen.

It's not 1,000yen for all three. It's 1,000yen per ticket. The ticket can be used for any of the first 3 movies. If you want to watch all 3 you'll still need to buy 3.

Tbh, I'm not that impressed with this. The 3d doesn't look good. Not a big fan of the way some of the faces are drawn either.

I don't mind the way the faces are drawn myself, it has a bit of a classic look to it. As for the CG, it doesn't look too jarring.

The running time for the first installment as shown on the BD/DVD listing on Bandai's site has been increased from 45mins to 49mins. It is still listed as tentative, so maybe BONES is trying to make it as long as possible before it actually opens in 2 weeks. Lol.

Saw this off twitter. It's a clip from the movie (starts at about 2:08) I don't think it was already posted

Well, I always did want that sequel to Xam'd ...

Edit: Finished watching both ''clips'' the action seriously looked very impressive, as expected from BONES. Hopefully the first movie/OVA has more of it other than this.

That's the first half of episode 1. The second part is about another fight between the the Attractors and Ordo. Not much of an exciting and new story, it's the usual tokusatsu action.

So, since I speak basically no Japanese, did anything really important happen in those clips? It seemed like they were setting up the resistance and the government and introducing the conflict for the first film but there was an awful lot of talking, I feel like I might have missed something else.

My first impression was... "WTF? That's Omigawa's normal voice?" I dunno, her characters usually are deep voiced, so I was really surprised at the high pitched squeakiness.
