No idea why I like these...

Well this includes some other TV shows as well, not just anime. But I think they're all pretty much the same "type"

House
Law and Order (Specifically SVU and Criminal Intent)
Death note

They all seem to have the...same..flavor I guess. Looking for anime thats somewhat the same type. I have no idea what genre that would fall under. It could all fall under different genres even.

What I wanna know mostly if - What genre(s?) do I happen to like o.O I have no idea >.<
and some reccomendations that have the same "flavor" :P

rofl, ouch. And looking at Death Note, do I also perhaps detect a certain liking for main characters which aren't unambigiously good or evil? =)

In that case... how about Code Geass? Brilliant strategist, and delightfully immoral. Machiavellian is a term one might use to describe Lulu. =p

And this might sound strange, but I think you might possibly like Yuugi-Ou if you give it a try. (The unlicenced non-cardgameobsessed series where the spirit of the puzzle has a delightful sadistic streak.) ^_^

You should really give Monster a try if you haven't seen it. I think it fits with your tastes as expressed here.

If he was right, then I'd suggest Spiral. It's not quite as ominous but the main character is very intelligent, and the show has a talent for having absurd ideas like Death Note.
