Wow! No I didn't catch that at all Dextro, thanks for sharing with us Wonder what that little guy was doing there.

@Ash Falls Town: I'm fairly sure that the music they used during the epic fight is a classical piece. I'm determined to find out what it is, because it increased the epicness of the fight.

Erza is my favourite character, and all of her battles are highlights for me... but this one takes the cake. It was a nice touch to see that everyone was protecting her and she was never alone.

He might be referring to the Fairy Tail Main theme.

At any rate, the anime filler expansion of the fight was fairly good. I didn't quite like the fist fight portion due to it's resemblance to DBZ mid-air fist fights, so it brings up a bad taste to my mouth. I can probably see it as a bit of a reference/homage to typical shonen fights, though, as FT does make use of shonen tropes.

Not to mention Erza's whole beatdown, and yet still finding the strength to stand and win is fairly typical of it, heh.

Was it the Fairy Tail Main Theme or was it Mahoukyou No Tabibito? Maybe I should go and watch again to make sure.

I think it was both. There was some them playing there for awhile, that I didn't quite like. But when Erza made her final strike to win, the FT main theme was playing. I wasn't quite sure to what portion the initial poster asking, was referring to.

Yeah. It's some easter egg from the anime studio, or possibly just a specific animation director. You can see odd creatures like that in the background in a bunch of other episodes as well.

You are talking about the first movement of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. Here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8l37utZxMQ

The song you are referring to can actually found on the second Fairy Tail OST as Track 27 "Rakuen no Tou" I believe.

While everyone was puzzled & collapsing Erza had her hands full.
Really nice & intense action this time.
Pretty hard fight for Fairy Tail..

I wonder if it's just some random doodle someone on the team added and/or if it has any particular meaning.

That thing showed up when Natsu imagined himself being a ninja all the way back in episode 3.

Sorry for my blindness, I totally missed your earlier post on this. I'm glad you knew what piece it was, it was so familiar to me but I couldn't put my finger on it.

No, I was too busy thinking why Azuma would spread Erza's legs and look up with such a straight face I bet Erza would have won much faster, had she used her seduction "armor"...besides, why buy a weapon if you're not going to use it? ^^

That was a pretty cool fight indeed, I didn't expect even half as much. Is it weird that Azuma bleeds tree sap at the end of the fight instead of...well, blood?

This episode made me remember the Claymore comparison to the fight back in the manga thread...gotta admit the anime did an amazing job delivering this one.

That only happened after that scene anyway.

Nice action and all but... really? After getting struck by powerful attack twice Erza still won? I like Erza and all but that's just... friendship theme took it too far for my taste.

The second attack didn't actually hurt her, since it was being fueled by her friends' magic.

Also, Erza could still have had the protection of a Fairy Tail member not to die while on the island.
