American Gangster
The movie that I really want to watch but have been unable to do so thus far. The story is about a kingpin who was bringing drugs in the US by hiding it inside the bodies of the dead soldiers from the Vietnam war. I have heard nothing but good things about the movie from everyone who has watched it. Considering the movie features Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe, I'm sure I'll have a blast whenever I get to watch it. LQ Trailer: HQ Trailer: |

Where's the hype? =(
I probably won't get a chance to watch this (no time) but I'm really interested in hearing comments about it. I'm mainly pumped for it thanks to Denzel Washington playing a 'villain' - the last time (or rather, the last movie I watched) he did it, he was great. |

I liked the movie but my friend said he was disappointed.
Interesting to know about a part of history that I never knew. I found an a link to an article on wikipedia that says that Frank wants to make a sequel to it. Spoiler for movie:
Even though Frank was a villain, I felt he was also the good guy in the movie. They made Richie Roberts look like a bad guy. |

That tends to happen to someone as iconic as Washington. I've actually heard that he keeps to his good guy mold. Disappointing? Not really. It very much humanizes bad guys (or at least who we perceive to be bad because of stereotypes).
Hmm, but that's enough of what I think (when I haven't even watched the movie yet! ;_; ). How was your take on Denzel-the-good-guy? |
