Gaiking (3D Movie)
Haven't heard much about this baby, but presumably it's another Japanese production and not a Hollywood attempt.
While I have not yet seen any of the Gaiking animes (both old and new ones), the CGI in this feature is

Holy crap, I can never expect this forever. But the character doesn't look hotblooded enough to carry the flames for Gaiking. The Gaiking itself doesn't look fiery as well. It looks like they are going to attract girls with that bishounen.
I'd recommend the new Gaiking to any mecha fan, it is basically Gaogaigar with Transam, or Luffy as a Super Robot that can go Super Saiyan. And it has action scenes that can match TTGL in epicness. The only downside is that its specifically targeted at children, complete with moral lessons at then end of episodes. But still its extremely action packed for a children's show. Also, the new Gaiking has already appeared in an SRW and has captured alot of attention. EDIT: Wait lol I just noticed its a female pilot, even more unexpectedness.

Lol Gaiking made by American ? Hope they won't screw up this one .. but sure the trailer look great .
Also , a female pilot , it seems that it won't following the original story . Actually , the pilot is the son of the ancient pilot . |

Like I said, don't really know much about this trailer. I did hear it was made by American animators, however Toei has a direct hand in the project apparently.

I'm having a hard time telling if that CGI is an American CG studio trying to be Japanese or a Japanese studio trying to be American. Generally American CG relies on highly scratched up and gritty textures with multiple layers of various mapping types to make things look hyper-realistic where as Japanese CG companies tend to rely on editor based materials that only show their full effect in renders that gives everything a sleek and clean feeling to it. This was in the middle.
