Well, think of it this way:
- The only person on the Nahel Argama side that even slowed Full Frontal down was Banagher.
- Several pilots more experienced than Riddhe died.
Thus, I don't think he's bad, but he's damn lucky.

I really enjoyed this episode.

Marida's got such a giant death flag on her that it hurts. She's got the most hostile face but she does the kindest cutest things in Unicorn. Like catching the big buff guy and took the time to put his glasses back on. Catching that little kid and over-turning her, then handing her back to her mom.

Full Frontal is just as I expected him to be. He's awesome but not awesome at the same time, he's got so much mystery behind him but I'm worried the answers to that would just disappoint me and reduce his credibility. (I know who he really is in the novels, but I'm going to give the anime version the benefit of the doubt since the director did say he wants him to be different.) Him maneuvering around the asteroids and the debris, jumping from one to the other is incredible.

Recently re-reading Origin where Minerva is still just a little baby, seeing her here all grown up and less naive (in Zeta), stronger and braver makes my heart all warm and fuzzy for some reason. Dozle would be happy .

Too bad I'm not liking Banagher Links too much right now. He's a little bit too obsessed with Minerva, he JUST met her not too long ago and all he ever cares about is her. Not his friends, not his family, not anything else. How the hell did he get such a strong affection for her? I mean I know she's cute but god dam Banagher Links chill out! He's probably the only Gundam pilot in the U.C universe that's got such a strong boner rage that he's willing to fight a war that's got nothing to do with him just to get himself some. For some odd reason U.C is just full of these losers that are selling their love unconditionally and just being ignored like idiots. Fa, Frau, Hathaway, Katz...all these idiots....and now Banagher...he better grow some real balls.

I love how technology evolved in the UC universe, the digital paper is really freaking awesome. The remix of everlasting at the end of this episode sounds really sweet too.

I do remember that, but Amuro's reaction was much more normal and reasonable.

To me Amuro saw a really cute chick with eyes he cannot forget that spoke out to him. He blushed, thought about her, then she turns up to be with his rival Char. People would think about that, but they won't be obsessed like Banagher. He just met Minerva and he's acting all crazy in her face about it.

I'd also say that with Amuro's awakening powers he couldn't really find anyone he can relate to except Lalah (and that was on the battlefield when their minds were resonating with each other). I'd also argue that Lalah affected Amuro for the rest of his life because he killed her by accident and he felt guilty about it. Amuro's attention to Lalah is much more justified than Banagher.

I wouldn't say Banagher's reaction is unseen of, since there are plenty of insane boyfriends and obsessed male teenagers in real life, and he's just one of these idiots. But it doesn't make him any less unreasonable and retarded when the world is freaking up around you, and all your friends just vaporized in front of you all you care about is a cute chick.

There is also the fact that he's probably a Newtype since he had the flash when Unicorn entered the scene, but I'm not sure if he's fully aware of that yet.

Episode 2 was quite good. As a newbie to UC, some references flew over my head but I still relatively enjoyed it.

I'm not sure what you're saying right now. That Amuro was just as unreasonably obsessed about a girl as Banagher is?

Amuro never said retarded things to Lalah like "Your name is not Minerva it's Audrey! I don't care!", or crazy things like "I just want you to say you need me!" when they just met for 10 minutes.

Amuro said none of those things, all Amuro ever showed was interest (NOT obsession), before he could even talk to Lalah and get a deeper understanding she was fried. He didn't show any level of extreme obsession that Banagher is showing right now. Banagher is also not showing any form of care about Minerva's identity or her connection to his father. He just cares about her as her like he's in love...no obsessed.

Amuro also isn't risking his own life and fighting a war that he doesn't believe in just for a girl he met for half a day. Amuro is fighting for survival and then it turned into a professional and personal rivalry about pride with Char.

I'd say all of Amuro's reactions to Lalah are quite reasonable for a human being. You see a girl you like, you take peeks at her, think about her sometimes, doesn't sound like Banagher at all.

Anyway.

I'm rewatching it in the dub right now, and I'm pretty impressed with it although I still prefer the original. I noticed that Angelo's Zulu shoots green beams that turn yellow when it reaches the Unicorn. Is that an animation error? Or is that suppose to happen?

Not at all. I am saying that these "Newtype encounters" can turn any ordinary encounter into something crazier and deeper. Amuro met Lalah and barely knows her, then in their battles together kept talking about them "meeting" and "understanding each other" was "destiny", as if they had known each other for more than the 2 minutes that they got to interact in. Then Amuro, who had killed numerous people before, got nightmares about killing Lalah every night for the rest of his life. And he also started hearing voices, of course.

I chalk Banagher's obsession to a similar phenomenon. Its of a different nature of course, more akin to Haman's obsession with Judau. But its nothing new.

Riddhe didn't go into this battle with a huge ego. They're nothing alike.

Well that was seriously good. It was an all around strong episode, what with class writing and animation. I was really drawn into each scene, especially the ones that involve Full Frontal. Fanboy mode was on auto max, especially during the first half (and second part, during his conversation with Banagher).

Also the sound effects during the MS battles are godlike. I highly recommend watching this with headphones on, for the full effect.
