A couple of opinion pieces from a while back provide some background on the root causes of Indonesia's perennial haze problem.

Actor James Gandolfini dies of heart attack at age 51.
http://www.nydailynews.com/entertain...icle-1.1377435 That really came out of nowhere when it was announced yesterday. Of course, people will mostly remember him as Tony Soprano. However, I still remember his first noticeable performance (for me) in Crimson Tide as Lt. Bobby Dougherty in particular scenes alongside Gene Hackman, Matt Craven and a certain Viggo Mortensen. |

"Here's a sign of the times. Canada has made wearing a mask at a protest a
crime. Why did they do this? It makes it easier for police to ID people using CCTV and social media photos after a protest occurs. It also makes it easier to assemble a database of facial portraits, that can be run through rapidly improving facial recognition software, so everyone involved in the protest can be IDed and the information stored in a database, for use in the future." "This is why Canada would make wearing mask in public a crime that could put you behind bars for up to a decade. Incidentally, that's more time than any bankster got for defrauding us of trillions of $$ in 2008!!" See: http://globalguerrillas.typepad.com/....html#comments |

With all the crap that happened in last year's student protests, many of those animals escaped because they wore masks while acting as professional property destroyers. Anything to get rid of those scumbags is fine to me.

Considering how the Athens Olympics brought up a massive bill that is still killing Greece up to this day, I hope IOC/FIFA will no longer give the World Cup or the Olympics to countries which are very doubtful in their ability to host the events and pay the bill without making their economy collapse. For instance, one city out of Tokyo, Istanbul and Madrid will be named as host the 2020 Olympics. If it was for me, Istanbul (political problems) and Madrid (quite the analogy with Athens/Greece) should be out of contention in the first round of voting on September 7. Quote:

This news report on the state of Maine will make your jaw drop and your brain explode. If you thought that corruption is only predominant in 3rd world countries then think again. The corruption in the US is just as bad if not worse; cases like such as this one are particularly repulsive.
