I only just got around to downloading the latest Rewrite trial, but have gotten the damn "This game is Japan only" message. Is there a patch exe or something I can do for this?

Thanks a lot, works perfectly! I never really properly played through the first trial, and I can't wait to play this. I think my Japanese is good enough to have a general idea of whats going on in VNs, the only problem is those godforsaken kanji.

You've been misinformed. There are two VNs currently being produced:
*A fan-made VN. It's going to suck. Key is not at all involved with this.
*An actual Key project. Jun Maeda has been working on an Angel Beats visual novel since late 2010, but it has yet to officially be confirmed.

Ooh, nice. Well, that fan made version seems like it'll be trashed sooner or later (at this rate, especially if Jun gets the green light for it). But if Jun does create a VN, won't it be quite linear?

Not necessarily. There are enough heroines that they could all have their own proper path if developed. The anime ending is one of many that could have happened.

Not necessarily. The anime ending could just be an option, probably the "main" route (not sure if right word, like Nagisa for CLANNAD). There are enough girls to have a few good routes.

Also, what's wrong with linear. I sorta liked planetarian.

I'm so looking forward for this game. I just hope the retail version won't be region locked (yeah I know, there will surely be some patch to address that... but I'd still prefer to keep it clean...) and above all I can't fluently read Japanese

Oh well, AGTH, a good dictionary and a lot of patience can go a long way, and seem to be my only options...

I agree - if it's region locked, I'm going to strangle myself until that game is unlocked via patch.

And as long as you have the original CD version of it, it's always clean because patches only install to the computer itself and not the disk.
and if you want it to be "extra" clean, I'm sure you'll find a way to create an ISO version of it for backups

By the way, does anyone know what does the limited preorder edition contain, aside from the site-specific goods (like the straps from amiami)? Maybe it has already been said in this thread, but I can't seem to find it

For those who didn't know, it has been 2 days that Key has been displaying many artworks done by various artists.
Page is over there. So far, they have been adding 3 new artworks per day, but only the most recent artworks can be zoomed in.

I was kind of surprised they went as far as grabbing Suzuhira, Tanihara, Takaya, Ditama, Nanao etc. Geh, I was a tad too late and missed Suzuhira's Akane (did anyone manage to save it?)... At least, could grab Tanihara's Kotori.

A very interesting little addition for the wait, although I wonder how long it will last (I doubt they have a hundred of artwork for a full month)
And what's up with this utter lack of love for Lucia so far? ~~
