most of the time, i watch alone but i dont feel lonely

my bro also watch anime, but our taste differs...

i think lonely or not really depends on different ppl, i know there are some groups/clubs that often watch animes together

Like someone said before.
Its only as lonely as you want it to be.
The same applies for all hobbies.

If I think about it, it is.
I cannot really remember watching an anime together with friends, really not.
Other films, yeah, but no animes.

I only watch animes if I am alone, if I have nothing else to do or if I am bored. ^^"

Sometimes, It can be lonely...

when I see an anime character with lots of friends or he/she is accomplishing something great...and sometimes I get lonely saying to myself "I wish i was like that"

other than that..I cannot think anymore lonelier things in watching anime...

It depends on what you call lonely. I admit that aside from mindless anime (that you don't need to think, eg. action/comedy), I don't watch anime with my friends a lot. But I still discuss it with them, and I don't see why discussing online doesn't count. It is like playing a chess/mahjong game with concentration then reviewing it with friends afterwards.

Similarly, I watch series with idealistic friendships and pure love and I wonder if such things can even exist in this reality. And then I start to ponder if I'm harming myself by giving perhaps-unattainable standards in these things.

Most of my friends are also fans, so I don't have this issue. Though it's nice to have other interests and hobbies, too.

You talk about it with others, might be lonely if you're watching alone but I usually got company.

I recently introduced a friend (also an anime watcher, but more of a comic book guy) to Mind Game and Kaiba.

It's fun having such a corrupting influence.

Though, I'm horrible at social stuff (moreso due to lack of ability to make friends than anything else), so I don't get much of a chance to watch anime with other people.

Even though you consider it doesn't lonely, some people who watch you say it really does lonely like you don't have many friends to hang out with X)
It's quite rare to watch anime together if you were not in an anime club or something.

It seems lonely when i'm watching at home but at school i have a few friends who are fans (some not as much as others) but we suggest different anime's to eachother and discuss them at times but not very often.

Although sometimes it doesn't seem lonely at all because the town i'm in has an anime and manga club i go to every Monday.

There are several prople that don't understand anime in Portugal...

Well, myself don't understand how can people sit by hourls watching crumy soap operas.

To me it's just entertainment, but it's hard not having people to talk about something I like, simpoly because they find it weird. That's one of the reasons I come to forums like this I guess.

Same to me. I don't know persons that watch animes often like me in real life.
A few liked Elfen Lied, but then are only two of my friends left that knows a few animes.

So I chose to register at this forum, just as anime nanet mentioned.

hmm well i guess it could get lonely, but it doesnt have to be
i mean you'd be suprised how many people you wouldnt ususally expect to say "yeah i watch anime" actually watch a good amount

uhh i cant really say that i have a lot of close friends who are anime fanatics though but its all good because.. well u all know.. anime's awesome so who cares if im watching it by myself? lmfao plus its not like anime takes up your whole day
so u can always just go hang out with regular friends after you're done watching a few episodes

Well, I practically watch anime alone and only rewatch them with a few selected friends only when I feel they deserve to watch them. And of course I comment a lot during the rewatch in case they miss something....

Don't think I've watched anime with anyone except my cousin but thats rare. I knew one person at college who watched some series though the main anime we spoke about was Bleach. Since college ended though we havn't met and neither of them are online much right now so it is a bit lonely.

However I prefer watching alone, I've normally feel more uncomfortable when I watch anime/movies with others.

I wouldn't call it lonely persay. I do watch it alone yes but I do not feel lonely at all. If anything anime is my quite time to myself were I don't have to worry about anything and can sit back and enjoy watching what I love in peace.

I'd say it is what you make it. I personally can't stand watching anime with others around its like how I can't read a good book with alot of people around talking either.
