Another thing that has bugged me is the keys. How many of each key actually exists? Is their only one gold each, or are their more? One thing that also never seems to come up is the contract; Lucy uses whatever gold spirit she wants when she wants, and yet when they were first introduced it was said she had to make a contract on when she could use them. Its never really explained.

They still have contracts, which is why she doesn't just spam Loki and steamroll her enemies. It's just a way to keep her in check rather than an actual handicap. About the keys, while there are many silver keys for the same spirit, the zodiac keys are unique; Lucy started out with 2 because of her mother, who was in an increadibly rich family (although it was never explained where she got them).

Mashima how about stop being lazy and give them(spirits) offensive/defensive buffs and special attacks. If the spirits are dependent on the summoners strength/magic then get Lucy up in shape and get her magic powers up. Shes falling behind from the rest of the cast.

Did you expect Lucy to defeat Jackal, that Natsu only managed to defeat because his magic was compatible, and Torafusa who is on the same level by herself? It was already obvious this wasn't gonna happen from last chapter. She already escaped the prison when nobody else could, she beat Jackal, split the cube in half and her summon is facing off with the king of hades. What more do you want? What she's done is easily on par with Erza.

Kind of funny to see that this week the episode of the anime ended with the apparition of Aquarius

I know that Mashima would bring Aquarius back again somehow.... but anyway if Lucy is truly parting ways with her and can't see her anymore, it's just the same with killing Aquarius

that's so sad.... and Celestial King.... I thought he only cut "someone" but he actually cut "something"

It would have been nice if she would have defeated them with her three spirits. Having three spirits out it would seem to be a big deal. But as we saw, it did absolutely nothing to win the battle. Her and the spirits are weak. They haven't grown at all. Static as some here are saying.

Fairy Tail will be facing even more powerful opponents down the road, what is Lucy and her spirits supposed to do?

Her summoning the King is a one shot deal, highly unlikely she will sacrifice another friend.
(Knowing FT, Aquarius is probably alive and well. It was just a joke from Aquarius "jk lucy lel! i like to see you suffer bitch ")

I want to see an arc where Lucy and her spirits reflect on their weakness and do something about it. I want some growth from them. They are falling behind.

Information about -who- made the keys has yet to be revealed, though my guesses would be limited to:

1) Leila Heartfillia, for obvious reasons.
2) Musica, since his swords already exist in this universe (not to mention the TC in Edolas).
3) The spirit king himself.

Still, I'd rather not see Aquarius ever again in the series and let her live a happy life with Scorpio. Character nerfing is srs business.

lucy spirits in order of when she get owner:

cancer and aquarius from heritage from her mother

horologuium(probably buy);taurus(a mini flash back in anime show who she get him after she leave her house; lira, and crux all of them where get at same point before the manga start but not exactly at same time of cance and aquarius

plue - start of the serie before duke everlok arc

virgo - duke everlook arc

saggitarius - galuna island

loki - loki mini arc

scorpio, gemini and aries - oracion six

capricorn - tenroujima island

pixs - the compass ????(dont know but his first appearance was after the time skip).

Ya, not to mention the simple fact that she has yet to use capricorn in combat. Plus Virgo's specialty is earth magic; while she does have a good deal of physical strength, she's not exactly your first choice for a water battle.

Another would be gemini. Have them transom into jackel and then have em' go take out the other two demons while the other two spirits take on Jackel... Though long range fighters like Scorpio would be better for Jackel


Granted, its always possible that this is one of the days when she contractually can't summon them... which only makes it kind of annoying not to know when those days are.

Thought it was Taurus and Aquarius, but yeah she had Cancer early on too.

taurus for what i get, she meet him prior to the manga(showed in a anime filler)
theorically speak she heritage cancer, aquarius and capricorn, but the last was "stolen" by zoldel(heartfilia family ex-worker) the silvers keys i'm not sure if she also heritage then or just "buy".

because mashima only use the most "popular lucy spirits"
since neither capricorn or gemini are enough popular he barelly use then

mashima use most or "fap characters" or comic characters like:
virgo=boys fap material
loki = girls fap material
aries = half fap half comic
cancer = comic
taurus = the comic near useless pervert
scorpio = cool look

then this make caprircorn and gemine the less used or almost non used, as long the freaking otakus and fujokas, keep asking for loki virgo and taurus the chance of we see capricorn will be near 0
