An Idea for a GS3 Story, Characters, and Mecha

Not to be confused with DarkazurESky's fanfic. I started this about two weeks ago and actually got the story, all the characters, and the first three mecha ideas done within the first few days, but hit a roadblock in coming up with new ideas for the other new mecha, as well as names. Realizing that it will still take me forever to think up original names and weaponry for the rest of the suits, I decided to go ahead and post this. I don't know yet if I'm going to start typing a full fanfic on this.

To make it so this one post doesn't take so much of the page since the text is so long, I've put it in spoiler tags.

Story

Cosmic Era 83. 10 years after the last war, tensions have been brought back high between the newly rebuilt Earth Alliance and PLANT with Orb attempting to act as mediator. The cause of this is a group calling themselves Eternity, which has begun terrorist attacks against both the EA and PLANT from an unknown base of operations. They claim that humanity will only experience war between Naturals and Coordinators unless a new unifying government is established which will allow humanity to live for eternity, hence their name. As a result of these attacks, the EA and PLANT have both accused the other of secretly supporting the Eternity organization…

Dana Calloc is an Extended from the previous war of 10 years ago. She was to fight against ZAFT as a pilot for LOGOS, but many of the scientists at the lab where Dana and other Extendeds were created treated them as normal children outside of their training. However, an accident at the lab when she was a child just after the previous war ended, killed the scientists and other Extendeds, the only family she knew. The only survivor of the accident, Dana saw the bloody corpses of the only family she knew with her own eyes…

Now Dana is a soldier in the new EA. Because she was created using more advanced techniques, she doesn’t suffer any of the emotional and personality problems that some of the preceding Extended, like Stellar Lousier, experienced, but she is still required to undergo constant medical examinations and take medications to live. A call goes out to special soldiers and pilots with exceptional skill to be assembled into a special military force whose purpose is to combat the Eternity group. As the only Extended in the EA, Dana is assigned to the force. There she meets a Coordinator pilot from ZAFT named Russan Lonz, who, like Dana, was also alone in the world, his parents killed in LOGOS’ attack on PLANT with Requiem. Unlike Dana though, Russan was taken in and raised by a former ZAFT pilot. As he grew up, Russan heard stories from that former pilot, who shared a childhood tragedy similar to Dana’s. That pilot’s name was Shinn Asuka….

Along with war veterans Yzak Jule and Dearkka Elthman, captain and second in command of the new Aries-class battleship Athena, chief engineer Wena Solly, and pilot Samon Ron, Dana is assigned as a pilot to the Athena and made the pilot of the prototype Blade Gundam to battle against the Eternity forces. As the battle goes on however, it becomes apparent that Eternity is far larger than it originally appeared, and full-scale war draws ever closer. And Dana and the crew of the Athena make a shocking discovery about the Eternity’s force. Dana must then not only deal with her connection to Eternity, but with the degree of her own humanity as well…

Notes: Despite her looks, Dana is a loud and demanding soldier. This makes her stand out among the crew of the Athena. Her piloting skills and abilities do not appear to be as high as those of past Extendeds, but Russan and Dearkka believe she has potential. At first, she cares very little for Russan's attempts to build friendship, but she eventually comes to rely on his support.

Notes: Russan acts as a big-brother figure aboard the Athena, listening to problems suffered by his fellow crew members. After hearing of Dana’s past, Russan sees that she wants to become the best soldier that she can in memory of her surrogate family at the labs, and he strives to help her as emotional support.

Affiliation: Orb
Role: Chief engineer
Notes: Having graduated at the top of her class at the Orb military academy, her skills and knowledge of military technology is nearly unrivaled. Her personality, however, is less than desirable. She is bossy and pries into other people’s business, and she strictly upholds military protocol. Because of Wena’s tomboyish attitude, which makes her similar to Dana, you would expect the two to get along, but they often find themselves at odds with each other. Wena is a childhood friend of Samon.

Role: Mobile suit pilot
Notes: He has a calm, relaxed personality, which helps him get along with many people aboard the Athena. As Wena’s childhood friend, Samon has a good understanding of her and her behavior. While Wena isn’t happy about having someone on the ship who reads her like a book, Samon shrugs off her verbal assaults knowing she doesn’t honestly mean harm.

Role: Company commander aboard the Athena / mobile suit pilot
Notes: This war veteran has changed little from the hotheaded commander of the war 10 years ago. Being such, he has little tolerance for people like Dana who are demanding and seem to try and step out of line in the chain of command. Dana finds herself being constantly berated by Yzak for trying to step around his orders. He is strongly against Dana piloting the Blade Gundam and has little belief in her piloting skills, but he accepts Dearkka’s advice and allows her to continue as the Blade Gundam’s pilot.

Dearkka Elthman
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Race: Coordinator
Affiliation: ZAFT
Role: Second in command of the Athena's mobile suit team / mobile suit pilot
Notes: Like Yzak, Dearkka has not changed since the war of 10 years ago, with his cool and friendly attitude. This makes him much like Samon, and, also like Samon, it makes him easily accepted by the crew of the Athena. Unlike Dana and Wena, Dearkka’s similarity to Samon’s personality allows the two to get along very well. He is probably the only person aboard the Athena besides Russan who truly sees potential in Dana as the Blade Gundam’s pilot, as they can see her desire to become a first-class pilot.

Role: Captain of the Athena
Notes: As the idea of a single commander from either nation being in command of the united task force was strongly rejected by both the EA and ZAFT, it was agreed that the commander of the force would be from the neutral nation of Orb. Dackon is a by-the-book, highly-trained officer who fought in both of the last wars. He disapproves of Yzak’s hot-headed temperament but is patient with him due to his accomplishments. He seems to have some kind of connection to the Eternity pilot Colly Nenz.

Age: Unkown (appears to be 40-50)
Race: Unkown
Affiliation: Eternity
Role: Political leader of Eternity and supreme commander of its military forces
Notes: This mysterious man is the founder and political and military leader of the Eternity group. Next to nothing is known about him, other than that he commands great respect.

Name: Colly Nenz
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Race: Coordinator
Affiliation: Eternity
Role: Mobile suit pilot
Notes: She has a personality perfectly normal for a teenage girl her age, which makes her profession hard to believe. However, this average exterior contrasts with the fact that she is the best and most well known pilot in the Eternity organization. Despite being at such a young age, many say that her skills even surpass those of the ultimate Coordinator, Kira Yamato. To make her a symbol of strength for the Eternity group, she has been given a prototype mobile suit whose design is based on the legendary Freedom. She has been granted near-complete independence from the standard chain of command in the Eternity forces.

Affiliation: Eternity
Role: Captain of the Eternity flagship, Heaven’s Wrath
Notes: Zallon is a feared commander in the Eternity organization, possessing hardened battle skills, tactical expertise gained from fighting in the two previous wars, and cold-hearted mercilessness on the battlefield. Because he shows no mercy even to retreating enemies, he is seen as the dark knight of Eternity even by his fellow commanders.

Affiliation: Civilian / Orb
Role: Mobile suit pilot
Notes: Now living on the Eurasian continent with Lunamaria Hawke, Shinn Asuka has been leading a quiet life since he left the ZAFT forces 10 years earlier. Dana meets him when the Athena does combat with the Eternity forces in Eurasia near the city where Shinn lives. Although Shinn wishes to have no more part in war, Dana revitalizes the wish for peace that drove him in the previous war, and he joins the crew of the Athena as a mobile suit pilot.

Name: Lunamaria Hawke

Race: Coordinator
Affiliation: Civilian
Notes: She has been living with Shinn for the past 10 years. Although she would rather that Shinn not become part of another war and suffer the hardship he suffered in the war of 10 years ago, she sees the fiery will of the young Shinn in Dana, and allows Shinn to go with the Athena.

Name: Kira Yamato
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Race: Coordinator
Affiliation: Civilian / Orb
Role: Mobile suit pilot
Notes: Living as a civilian in Orb, Kira is also registered as a commanding officer of the Orb forces, in preparation for the escalating conflict with the Eternity organization. He encounters Dana and the crew of the Athena when they come into harbor at Orb to receive supplies and a new mobile suit for Shinn. At their meeting, Dana is shocked that such a quiet and frail looking man is the legendary Coordinator. With the further escalation of the conflict, Kira officially rejoins the Orb forces and takes his new Freedom in hand.

Notes: Living as a civilian in Orb along with Kira and Meyrin, Athrun becomes wary of Dana’s fiery personality, seeing her likeness to Shinn. Although he has no wish to join in the war, he offers moral and emotional support to Shinn as well as Kira.

Name: Meyrin Hawke
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Race: Coordinator
Affiliation: Civilian
Notes: Living with Athrun and Kira, she also offers her support to Shinn and Kira as they join in the war. She is also one of the reasons that Athrun has decided not to fight in the war along with Shinn and Kira.

Name: Cagalli Yula Athha
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Race: Natural
Affiliation: Orb
Role: Political leader
Notes: Cagalli is the voice of true reason in the political situation of the world. Because the Eternity organization’s assault on ZAFT and the EA is much like an invasion, she has sent the Orb forces to support both the ZAFT and EA forces in their defense against Eternity, while trying to persuade Zebn to cease hostilities. As she has continued talks with Zebn, she has begun to suspect that Eternity may be far larger than anyone has anticipated, and for the purpose of defending against Eternity should full-scale war break out, she begins mediating between ZAFT and the EA to combine their forces.

Role: Political council member
Notes: With the conflict with Eternity escalating more and more, Lacus tries to guide the counsel in talks with Cagalli in forming a united ZAFT-EA force to combat Eternity, but the war with Eternity has only heightened anxieties and distrust between PLANT and earth, making talks difficult at best.

This gives it superior power and energy output to the mobile suits fielded by ZAFT and the EA. In the hands of its pilot, it is a deadly force. It strongly resembles the Freedom Gundam, which has become known as the symbol of power and strength in both of the previous wars. Using this symbol, the Eternity organization fuels its forces with morale.

Notes: The Zidal is designed specifically for atmospheric combat and is flight capable. It possesses higher firepower than the Escallon.

With quite a number of ideas, the only writer's block we're facing is we can't make up our mind on whether or not we want a Athrun/Meyrin and Cagalli/Gilbert (( He survived in my brains, though he doesn't appear until like the VERY VERY end. )) or Athrun/Cagalli with Meyrin dead.

My idea involves LOTs of crazy pairings. Gai x Erica, yummy.

You did know that Erica is married and already have a kid of her own? But, I suppose it doesn't really matter for a pairing idea for a fanfic.

Alright, for your fanfic, Shinji (damn, this name reminds me of Evangelion...), I think you have enough characters to start and more than enough mechas to continue on.

But if the writer's block is the thing that's keepin' you from continuing, you aren't the only one. My DVF project is on a short halt because of a writer's block and my 4-hour-long night school.

But sooner or later, hopefully not too later, you'll get that block bashed down and continue. Good luck with the project.

And why don't you try to post it on the FF.Net? You'll only get a limited responses from the forum but you'll have many people trying out your fanfic.

So far for mine, I have 500+ people tried it and some of them is continued reading them. If oyu plan our the summary you put for your fanfic, you just might have people flocking over to read yours.


And hopefully, I have not let you take whatever readers I have for my own fanfiction if yours become much better than mine. Well, I guess that's a good thing for you while I hang myself in stupidity...

Well, that's one of the scenario's I'm capitalizing on. Since Erica's child is clearly still small judging from the way she talked to him, and there's not one single mention of her husband in both SEED and Destiny, I'm thinking going the Getbackers Spiderlady route.

Erica and Gai had a one night stand YEARS back. Sexay.

I may be posting my idea similar to Shinji's here sometime later, maybe a few days as I don't want a bunch load of SEED 3 ideas topics running around. Technically, this was my brother's brainchild which I contributed. Seriously, he's crazy. He wants Canard x Kazahana? Kira x Milly? Even though I can see how he wants to lay out his foundation, he's got to be on crack for even thinking about it.

I don't see how we can give much comments, considering it's still pretty basic. Essentially, it's a believable start-up, with a decent start-off of both the new and old cast, but there's too little outline of where you're going to tell how will your idea work out.

Remember when Destiny revealed just as much as you did, minus the fact that yours don't have the character/MS artwork?

if that was the case the main character wouldnt stand a chance, unless Eternity is just talking big and are just using Freedom/kira History as symbol of strength while saying this girl skills surpass kira/Freedom..but in reality shes at the same Level of the main character no better than the past Extendeds

What I'm going to do is I'll make a series summary/overview, kind of like what I did for my GSD ending fanfic, but a bit more summarized, then I might make a full fanfic based off of that when I get some solid time. But first, I need to think up names for at least Shinn, Kira, and Colly's suits.

Crusader: If you mean officially, then I believe that they're not the unquestioned leaders of their respective nations, they're just the most well-known ones.

If you mean in my fanfic idea here, then Lacus is one of several council members, where there is no suprememe chairman leader anymore. Experience has made it clear to the people of PLANT that having a single overruling chairman = bad. In Orb, the political leadership has not changed, and the EA has a congress-type government.


In answer to Sniper's question, the idea for the name "Eternity" actually popped in my head first, then I remembered the GS Eternity rumor form a while back. So maybe it was partially influenced, but not consciously.

I actually don't mind a main character who doesn't kick everyone's ass. It is kinda like Ed from Full Metal Alchemist, he is the main character but far from being the strongest.

UGH. A new MS for Shinn? What's wrong with Destiny rebuilt and repowered? Nuclear suits everywhere? I really DOUBT Shinn would be on the sidelines if a war would start again. More like he'd be Shinn, power up the Destiny, and just go on a PWN PWN PWN spree since there's no Athrun or Kira to stop him.

What happened to Destiny, Freedom, and Justice? Those designs aren't exactly common knowledge. Add a few improvements to the armor against beam weaponry and you really don't get much better bar psycommu.

Edit: A new cast and rehashes of the same ideas...come on now...go with a friggin' side story.

Just because there's a main character pilot and an ace enemy pilot does not mean they're going to duke it out. That's a bad assumption. There is no such law that says this has to be so. As for who Colly would fight then, who says she'll have a rival at all? Or there's always Shinn and Kira.


Demongod86: Yeah I knew you'd show up to degrade this sooner or later. Why is Shinn getting a new MS bad? As for why I don't use a re-Destiny, I guess you were both deaf and blind when a lot of people here and elsewhere complained about the lack of originality in the GSD suits.

Okay, now you are incorrectly assuming stuff and just being blind to others (or maybe you just didn't read the whole thing, to which I'd say "read the whole freaking thing or be quiet"): THERE IS NO WAR. It's TERRORIST ATTACKS. I specifically stated "terrorist attacks." These range from bombs to blitzkrieg attacks utilizing small forces on key military targets in the EA and ZAFT. I said it seems as if Eternity is larger than it looks at first sight. Whether or not Shinn pitches in is moot because the EA and ZAFT don't even know where the Eternity organization is based. They don't know when and where they'll attack next, hence the reason for why they put together a special task force to find them and take them on, while the EA and ZAFT's normal forces continue on.

Umm, I've got a word for you: originality. And since I follow common sense in stuff I create, in ten years, the Destiny, Justice, and Freedom will all be outdated. They may still have better power sources (barring Destiny, since it didn't have a nuclear reactor), but the mechanisms and technology used in the suit itself, as well as the efficiency of the weaponry, will be outdated.

And really, don't go bashing other people's stuff when you don't even know everything about it. And this from a guy who doesn't like people's fanfics. I haven't even said the plot yet. But if you want to go into rehashes, there, isn't Natural vs Coordinator just a rehash of Oldtype vs Newtype from Gundam X?

And I really think you need to refrain from bash statements like the last line of your post, especially after what you said in Darkazure's fanfic thread...

Even though I've read Demongod's original story, Mythica, the originality of the story kinda lacked through out the story. I know I'm suppose to talk about Shinji103's fanfiction, but let me say this before I get to the main point.

Alright. I've read three chapters of Mythica and sadly, at least for Demongod, I got bored of it. Sure, there is an originality for pairing up a couple of hot babes at the end or during the story but so far, that was about it.

If you, Demongod, want a place to get your originality satisfaction, then go to a book store and buy a book written by a professional author.

But asking for a fan fiction author to give some more originality? Come on! You're the guy who says that fanfictions lack originality and you're asking for some out of it.

If you don't like the level of originality of fanfictions, then don't troll on a thread that's about any kind of fanfictions and discourage any fanfiction writers.

If you have nothing to say but bad things about fanfictions, keep it to yourself. If you just want to torture yourself by reading other people's fanfiction, fine. Go and give yourself a bit of pain now and then just to bash and flame fanfictions.

Seriously, I would not waste my time reading or watching something that I don't like.

Also, Shinji's idea's originality level is pretty good. I'm not saying this just to go against Demongod, but to really say out my feelings. I believe that this is the first time I've ever heard a war against terrorism in any Gundam Universe.

If you want to turn this into a fanfiction story, go right ahead, Shinji103. You have my full support on this.
