Giant God-eating father > average beer-bellied father A very immersing episode, definitely of the epic caliber. Really wanna know what happens next >___<

Took me long time to leave a review, this episode made things far clearer for me than manga. I was seriously lost when this chapter was released.

Jeeze, I've only seen 2 episodes of Evangelion and even I was thinking this episode was suspiciously Eva like. And if that isn't high-octane nightmare fuel at the end then I don't know what is.

Why is everyone so eager to spoil a certain other anime series here? Not everyone here has watched that anime, you know.

Anyways, this episode was just excellent. I respect May, a short 8-year old girl, for holding out so well against Father. Father's abilities in this episode were quite surprising and somewhat novel, especially the big gun and how he transmuted May's kunai.

Scar can finally be considered a complete alchemist! Although he apparently needs two arms to do alchemy.

Giant Father really freaked me out. I can't see any characters fighting that monster, so I hope that someone smart will end up activating the reverse transmutation circle and potentially destroying Father. It was wise for Arakawa to introduce that earlier in the story so we probably will not get a deus ex machina end to overthrow Father and bring back everyone.

Don't worry tempster, any comparisons they are making to evangelion are superficial at best.

Evangelion is in a class of its own, FMA can't even hope to touch it .

Anyhow I thought the episode was pretty good, though the series can go down pretty badly depending on how the next episodes go. For me, half the series can be its ending. If the ending is crap, then that's what I usually remember most (Like DTB season 2...).

Maybe for you this is true but this is definitely not true for me.

^I love both.

But FMA is the one on the pedestal for me. My favorite among my favorites NGE can't touch it in my case ;D. Way more enjoyable and satisfying.
They aren't really comparable if you ask me, though. Their themes vary too much.

Spoiler for end of evangelion comparison:

Indeed. They're both top 5 series for me.

I'll say though, the Evangelion equivalent of this FMA episode meant a lot more both to me and to its respective series.

Well, I can honestly say that I was a bit traumatized by EoE, so I guess it made more of an impact on me, as well (even if for all the wrong reasons). But, hey, no need to pit one series (or fanbase) against the other, right?

Episode LX: Heaven's Eye, Earth's Gate

First, yesterday I read the end of the manga (which I will Never discuss in any of the anime episodes threads), which I delivered the first part of my thoughts post at the manga thread.

Now moving with the topic of discussion, the great flavor and feeling I got from reading the end of the manga was soured with this episode, not that I'm complaining.

Spoiler:

And so, three more episodes left, and already the story has run out of hope?

Once again, it's four more...

And it's always got to be darkest before the dawn. ^_^

Oh, I thought it was 63. Cool.

But how are they gonna do chapter 108? Is it going to be split between episodes 63 and 64, or is it possible to cram all those 112 pages or so into a single episode? Either way, the animators got their work cut out for them.

As fast paced as 61 was, I don't think it's going to be an issue...

I wonder why they need 64 episodes... with this space it all can be covered in next 2 episodes aka in 63 episodes... are they going to drag things out or do a recap/summarize episode as last?
