Pretty cool piece of code! Looks really neat too, but then, is it me, or are the filters being overlaid one on top of the other because after a while of running, the original looks really screwed up. But really nice nonetheless

Yes the filters overlay each other. My idea was that there are an infinite number of filter combinations that could be applied. I know the image does kind of get screwed up eventually. That's usually the fault of the filters that use offset or color difference (look on the status bar of your web browser to see). But I'm glad you liked it!

My browser is completly ignoring the applet tag. Do you have a java application version of it too?

It is written in Java....

Do you have JS2E setup on your PC properly? You may need to go into the security settings of your browser to allow applets to run.

I switched Java off in the browser, because it often crashes with enabled Java. I even have J2EE but I like to prefer an application instead of an applet.

Yeah well it was a homework assignment and it had to be written as an applet so I didn't have much of a choice Yeah for some reason it seems to have a problem with the Windows machines here on campus, but it runs perfectly on Linux and Sun systems. Haven't tested it on a Mac yet though.

@ Lanimoo,

your photos look really professional, like picture post cards.

@ Zyan,

the Jiu Zhai Gou in Sichuan province is a very nice place, and seems very peacefull and untouched. Very nice.

those took forever to load? was that my computer or the server???

Anyway, i would [url] them instead of [img]... ... as most of the other people are doing.

i like the photos, what camera do you use, and are those images shrunken from their orignal size?

heheh sorry for the wait, but if i url them noone will look at them
yes they were shrunk to 25% of the original... hehehe if you want to wait 5 minutes for each picture to load i could send those 1 meg picture files to you ^_^
i use a cybershot camera (you can see it on my profile picture) thats 2.0 megapixel. everyone laughed that I got a weak camera at a time where theres (insert latest technology #mega pixels here) sold at electronics stores. but i got it as my birthday/xmas present and I think its good enough for me. despite the fact theres no ZOOM! but theres video capability which is the shiznits (no sound tho). but what matters most is the person behind the camera, not the camera itself.... wow i rambled a lot here ^_^

Hopefully these links work.

http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/shu...&.dnm=a1c0.jpg
You can't see all the detail, it is cropped and scaled way down, but the original images were 3mb, too large to post (at 3072x2048 resolution).

If anyone wants it as a background or the like, just PM me. These creature are very common in the local wilderness (swampy river).
